What is the logic output on a refrigerator supposed to do?

Recommended Posts

In the latest update, I've noticed there is now a logic port on the refrigerator, something I've wanted for a long time so I can use it to power off the stoves once it is full. However, the output is always on standby, regardless of whether the refrigerator is completely empty, partially full, or completely full. Is it something that's just not implemented quite yet?

The logic port is only functional if the fridge is powered.

Hmmm ... Strange, maybe I've hit a bug of some sort. What are the criteria for it switching to active? Does it switch to active when 100% full?

Yes but because dupes can eat a food portion partly but can't produce less than full portions of food it is advisable to set the capacity a little lower than the default maximum capacity to make sure you don't get stuck with fridges that are 99.9% full.

I reduced the capacity to 98 kg when it was at 100 Kg and it worked briefly. I was able to see the output go to active, ran it through an inverter then into a power shutoff, which turned the stoves off. Unfortunately, it looks like the problem is re-occurring at 98 Kg, so to get it to work again I'd have to reduce it more, which isn't a good solution. It would probably be ideal if the refrigerator had logic activation parameters like the smart battery does. Hopefully that will be in a future update.

I have reported it as bug, in fact it was the first bug report on occupational preview branch, and the devs have stated that the slider should and will be changed to hysteresis sliders like the smart battery.
