Calcspar
Hey folks. Was just wondering if using nat gas and fert syth's to make nat gas super plant was still viable? Any current pics and guides would be great. Haven't seen much on them lately. Thanks! TheOlz
As viable as they've ever been. You haven't seen anything recent because nothing has changed with that system. We now have conveyors so if you wanted to harvest fertilizer (or coal if you keep the hatches there) you could do so even without having a way for dupes to access it. But yeah, nothing much have changed. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87388-nat-gas-super-plant/#findComment-1002251 Share on other sites

Steelflame
Yea, as others have said, the only real change in that system is the fact you can make it conveyor based to move the fertilizer out rather than have to have dupes manually do it. About the only thing that changes in the build is that you need to expand the build size a smidge if you want that component to be automated. Kabrute
actually the real joke here is that the most power efficient method for the steam generator is to convert oil into nat gas with magma and pass the heat from the gas to the water/steam to run the turbine. Literally free secondary power from producing power Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87388-nat-gas-super-plant/#findComment-1002715 Share on other sites
Arash70
Any new model for the natural gas + fert synth generator? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87388-nat-gas-super-plant/#findComment-1002716 Share on other sites

Literally free secondary power from producing power I tried that but the heat deletion in the steam turbine is so great that you need to process about 1400g/s crude into natural gas for it to work with just one turbine, and at that point you already have 20KW from natural gas power so the extra 2KW hardly seems worth the effort. Thats the machines raw deletion rate? Jeeze yeah, its sad when you get better results from just digging a hole than from complex building Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87388-nat-gas-super-plant/#findComment-1002721 Share on other sites

It deletes about 675MJ per exposed tile under it. Is it more than 3 generators per geyser? Not sure if it's because of smart batteries but my room has 7kg of Nat gas with the 7/16 set up Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87388-nat-gas-super-plant/#findComment-1003334 Share on other sites
