Natural gas geysers overheat gold amalgam gas pump now?

Recommended Posts

Is it just me, or has something changed with natural gas geyser temperature of the speed in which pumps heat up or something?

I can no longer leave a gold almagam pump in a 4x4 chamber around a natural gas geyser. It'll overheat now.

It used to not overheat in all my previous experiences. Do you guys make bigger room or cool it down before it gets pumped now?

I usually make a 5x5 room and it's fine, I make sure to make the walls out of noninsulated granite and keep the area around the room reasonably cool though, so then that keeps the interior of the room cold enough.

Oh yeah, they overheat now after a few cycles. Not sure if they were always like that or it just started recently. Happened in the last upgrade too.

So I've done something like this:

Fill the top room with hydrogen

I ran into this a while back, just before the oil update, when I built abysallite walls around the natural gas geyser.Ā  My solution was to replace the walls with granite and stick a wheezewort in there.Ā  Ā Yeah, the natural gas geyser gets a lot hotter than the steam geyser.

It's been like this since OU - IĀ normally just leave a 2-3 tiles as granite when i'm capping it with the usual abyssalite tiles, seems to give it enough to keep it cool. Also, make sure you avoid dropping the air pressure too low - set your pumps on atmo switches.

this is my setup, one or two wheezewort (i use two), the pump with gold amalgan, all that space with granite tempshift plate, thermo sensor below 20 celsius and the atmo sensor to 1 kg, abyssalite around all thats space

This is my "complicated setup"
No problems with temps, not running 24/7

Your geyser is dispersing heat into the surrounding slime biome, I think OP had theirs fully enclosed in abyssalite or something similar.

In "lategame", the mapĀ  is more cooling down, then heating up. Some "free" heat is nice. ^^
