Copyright of klei characters

This is the big and large aspect of any fandom that eventually needs to be addressed. The usage of klei's characters within the multiple mediums, and how far can it be taken.

 

Looking at the basis of most copyrights any sort of fan works are technically illegal. However, it normally ends up getting pushed aside as the fan works tend to build up the franchise itself. Just like a type of symbiotic relationship that both parties benefit from.
 

That is kind of the small point of it but i wanted to ask klei themselves if it is possible to get permissions to sell fan work  of their games. tbh I am asking for a fellow artist on these forums.

I usually only do fanart but I don't try to claim it as my own. I just tend to forget to list that it's by Klei ^^;

I had to make two reference books to seperate fan art and official art so I can show who was done by who.
