Run Out Sand Resource ! What should i Do

Hi guys im cycle 80 use very efficiency . im runing out sand resource what should i do ? i have been searching from base to magma and to wall left and right i cant find any water / sand chunk only slime T_T

heat up your contaminated water about 110 then you get hot steam cool it down you will get water

Sand is a very limited resource as of now. Find alternate means of coping. SackMagie has one. Others are using "other means" of air purification (such as pufts).

New update in a week or so (early preview should be up through "betas" on Steam any time now--today or tomorrow most likely) will help with the water side of it.

How do you burn through sand in 80 cycles? At 300 I have still 50 tons left.

If you're new and focus on scrubbing the air and purifying the water using the obvious mechanical means, you can burn through sand fast if there isn't much generated in a world.

Yeah, I agree if you try to play the game the way it is intended you run out of sand way to fast.  If you have gotten to cycle 300 and still have 45000kg of sand left then you are probably living in a contaminated oxygen base and not worrying about filtering anything.

Nope.

The thing though is, I don't waste water for things like cooking or terrariums so I don't have to clear water so much in the first place. And scrubbers are not necessary with enough oxygen production - CO2 falls down and contaminated oxygen is pushed out of existence due pressure. Of curse, things producing contaminated air like distilleries are outside the base.

I got to cycle 80 without using a grain of sand, but my dupes were living fully around in cont. oxygen since cycle 30.

I don't use terrarium and any other structure that use water, except for research.

I pump CO2 inside the base outside, and then dug further down to let CO2 flow into the air pockets. I also plan to create some morbs to drain the CO2.

I am setting up a steam room at the bottom of the map. Once done, I will be able to get even more water for my hydrolzyer,

yeah we can use slime to get agle and product oxygen

im stil have 8 k sand left and im not use any water from start only use contaminate 

and i still learning , how you steam the contaminat water ? except to lava 

Contaminate Oxygen > cooling to Oxlygen Solid > oxgen liquid > Then ? 

CO2 gas > solid > Then ?

Contaminate water > Steam lava > cooling > water ?

 

PS : i have 15 dupe and all perfectly fine with stable resource except sand im already explore to corner left right and upper and bottom and i keep geting crash  im still Confucius what should i do

We spoke about this here bzgzd show what happen with clay when it was melted, because sand became clay after filtering process and if contaminated water became steam and then clean water and contaminated oxygen became liquid clean oxygen we start thinking about what if clay will became sand, after all it wont but material bzfzd got didn't have name yet, and might be it will became filtration material.

first thing you need to do is get liquid and valves asap in the game, machines use like 10 times more resources then they are supposed to do.

Set the valves to the amount stated the machines uses and you will get far more efficiency. I'm now at cycle 400 and barely used 30% of my whole sand, mostly on air deodorizers and water purification for shower and toilets, haven't used my first 2 huge pools of water yet.

Do not try to even get close to the bottom for steam if you don't have your whole base insulated and cooled

Yet but the whole quest in the thermal upgrade is to get more dirt so that's a bit counter-productive.

They more reliably turn to sand at 700 K.  But good luck getting that temp through buildings though.  It is not possible as material properties for tungsten isn't yet added.  Same for wolframite.
