I guess you could make Deerclops trash a forest. Yes! I've started doing that precisely because lureplants. Only--save yourself some resources: STEAL already-existing flooring from fancy spots around the map. Whenever you find a clockwork/marble area, remember where it is and come back with a pitchfork! Sometimes you can get more flooring than you atcually need right then and have to store some of it in a chest, even. Hey--my toothtrap field just killed off the Deerclops--for the second time, no less--so obviously they _do_ have some actual use. Not counting the, ya know, common one of killing off massive hound waves... EDIT: Oh! Oh! How could I forget one of THE most useful uses of tooth traps? FROG. RAIN. Spoiler (DISCLAIMER: Not the actual tooth trap field recently used to kill the Deerclops. Although I think it did take out Bearger once.) This one isn't as well-floored as my current world's one (this world isn't actually dead; it's just back on the main branch and I'm currently playing beta) but you get the idea. Also notice: both types of firepits. Hounds love them some night attacks! And I used to actually wear fashion melons/icecube hats (like in the RoG promotional picture!) every summer, back before I had figured it out and it was kicking my ass all up and down the block. Now I just carry endothermic fire materials on me, a thermal stone, and an umbrella. And stay under trees when feasible. It's enough. As long as you don't run out of grass and/or nitre! Which is why I never leave nitre on the ground when mining, anymore. ...Notorious Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/75302-little-used-items-rally/page/2/#findComment-878254 Share on other sites
JohnWatson
What about farmplots? They're very useless outside of being a late-game luxury, just like beefalo riding. Lots of food and resources, speed boost that only likes you while you feed it. Just going to make a thread to discuss all the dead content in the game. At least rebalancing existing content requires less development time then making new. If you don't feed it for long enough, it will turn feral once more. Ornery beefalo won't let you ride on you even when they're fully domesticated unless you feed it at least 1 item every once in a while.
