Ok so the map reveal items seem like later game magic items to me and seemingly others. This is good for well established players guiding new ones to their bases, but not for the beginning stages where grouping up is more critical. This is why I propose a bonfire. This would function in the same way as a campfire when it burns out. It would produce a large light radius, but require vast amounts of burnable materials for the initial build and fuel to keep going. When a bonfire is lit, its icon would appear on the map but reveal nothing. That, or players would simply receive a directional indicator similar to the one that tracks other nearby players. This serves as an inefficient but easily accessible method of reeling in sexy Wilsons to your secret love lair. Uh...I don't have a good way to end this.
