Birds in No Lights

Recommended Posts

You want a birdcage and a bird, huh? Good luck with that in No Lights world. Here is the only solution:

  1. Get Seeds from Thubleweeds => birdcage.
  2. Get Bird from Catcoon vomit => bird.

However:

I am at Day 50 in No Lights, asking for a catcoon's mercy the whole summer.
Still no bird yet.
I read all code related to catcoons: cancoon.lua, brians/ and SG.
As i understand it, whatever we give dont make **** difference as of now yet.
it is just a loop around "tiers" of vomit items, where the vomit output are tier based, and it steps up a tier every time furball animation is done.
But it may reach a random cap before it reaches "bird tier": tier 6
There are 7 tiers.
Can someone who knows more about its code tell me how to get the bird?
i already gave it well over 300 twigs.

Weird thing is, I actually got tier 7 vomit items (silk etc.) a lot, but no tier 6 item, not even one.

the birds of the world book works in lights out mode?

Dude, I told u exactly how. For that book to work, you have to have eggs in the first place. If this reminds u of the chicken egg paradox, good luck with that. Well, you think of pengull eggs, right? They are all asleep, so don't lay eggs. Before actually catching a bird in a birdcage, you have no egg (balls).

I don't know about pengulls in lights out, I'm at day 18 in lights out it gets boring when you set a camp.

As you said looks like the only way is the catcoon vomit, I will try to get a bird when I can, those catcoons drops birds a lot in a regular world, is just luck I suppose, why you want a bird in a cage in lights out anyway? feed the bird at night is pretty anoying, wait don't tell me... EGGS!!!, then you could craft the birds of the world book

This. I would recommend finding another food source because you're going to get tired real quick of pulling the bird out of the cage, putting it back in, feeding it three times (if you're quick/lucky), rinse and repeat.

Also, might be a bug, but I noticed I had birds landing (but immediately leaving) in a Lights Out game. I think it might have had something to do with the full moon.
