Which they did for a while then suddenly...no more hounds, about 12-15 days have passed now with no hounds, which is very unnerving, I feel like I am going to run into a giant pack of them at some point. Do they spawn else where on the map sometimes? Or is my game just glitched? w00tyd00d Posted January 14, 2013 Share Posted January 14, 2013 do claw traps have any affect on them?Yes, the tooth traps can hurt them (never used them myself so i don't know if its a 1-hit kill on them), but from what I hear they're kind've bugged right now so I wouldn't completely rely on them.To the OP, I've had a very similar thing happen to me right around the 60 day mark where I didn't get hounds for almost 2 in-game weeks. Finally they came and it was only 4 hounds and 1 hell hound, nothing too spectacular. I think the number of days that come in between hound attacks are meant to be sporadic with a good range of minimum/maximum days (like you said minimum is like 3-4 where the maximum being almost like 14 days, maybe even more). It's to make sure the player can never really plan out when the dogs come, which is the whole reason they were added in the game in the first place; to be the threat you can't attack on your own terms. w0bbl3r Posted January 15, 2013 Share Posted January 15, 2013 I am on day 40 or so and they have only been 3 times, in packs no bigger than 3 or 4. However, I was exploring an island I had only recently discovered, found a spider queen, killed her, went past where I found her and there were hounds teeth and monster meat around. So it looks like they ran into some spiders and the queen before they got to me. If I had known she was being an ugly, monstrous guardian angel I would have left the queen alive.
