Arctic Flog Posted January 11, 2013 Share Posted January 11, 2013 Im wondering people what is there to do? Im up to day 180 and have fortified, beautified and supplied my base perfectly. Ive also found all the mandrakes made all the bee boxes and have created a entire pig village not 5 seconds away from my base of operations. Im still trying to find the perfect way to beat hounds (I dont ever die i just havnt found a way to no brain it) but other than that what else is there to do? pokebirds Posted January 11, 2013 Share Posted January 11, 2013 well...you can... defeat a spider queen, commit suicide, make a berry farm in a swamp, burn your hard to obtain spider eggs, Burn all the twigs on your map, throw a party with every monster in the game, or...... you can be a turtle. the choice is yours.... It looks like the next patch might be bringing something big.Also, I've heard that tooth traps are very effective on hounds, though I haven't messed with them much myself. You have to hatch 10 smallbirds, feed monster meat to 10 pigs, have them chop down an entire forest you've planted in a mosaic biome between the tallbird nests and the swamps with tier 3 spider nests and tentacles, then you have to start killing smallbirds while you wait for night to fall on the evening of the full moon... But if you don't hear barking, you have to cancel the whole thing and try again at the next full moon? May I suggest you pack extra armor and tentacle spikes for this party? If you do this, and you get tentacle spots, smallbird eggs, red gems and a krampus sack, I think you win the internet. Of course, to really do it properly, you have to do it without any light. Otherwise, the grue won't join the party. How many hits does one have to take before it's fair to light a torch and send Mr. Grue home for the night? The Pig Whisperer Posted January 11, 2013 Share Posted January 11, 2013 Tooth traps take all the challenge out of hound attacks, and I love it. They also are effective against spider queens... But it takes many tooth traps to kill the queen, and a few just to kill a hound. It takes two to kill a spider, and I think three to kill a hound? Maybe four. You need a lot to handle a hound attack past day 100 or so... But you'll always end up with more teeth than you need, so it's not hard to have enough. I think 70 traps around the campfire. ----------------------------- You could always expand your base or make multiple bases. Dig up the turfs in the island you dislike and store them all in a chest. I read in a different thread that it doesn't...You can find the file under userdata in steam file and down one of those lists of numbers is your screenshots for dont starve and your save. You can copy your save and use the import option in game to lat retrieve it.
