The creature stopped struggling, and began to loudly whine. It really wanted to go down.

Trevor woke up. From what he could immediately see, everyone was on the boat..wait...EVERYONE?! The lady who looked and sounded a LOT like Julia was on the boat with them! He continued to think about how crazy his fellow crew must be to let this person on.

Kate looking down and away from the plush, feeling a twinge of guilt from unintentionally leaving him behind. The pitiful whining wasn't helping her heart feel any better. "M-ma'am? I think he really wants down." She said as she timidly reached to take the hamster.

"Aw, but he's so cute..." "We should probably give him a name, shouldn't we."

She sighed. "I'm guessing my cousin is dead. She should've been buried..." A tear dripped down her cheek, and she sniffed. "She... Should've been buried with the rest of them..." She started to cry. "Should've..."

"I know it's cute, but how would you like it if a big giant clamped it's hands around you to keep you from moving? You're being mean." Kate couldn't help but feel a little bad for this lady, even though she didn't like the mean person she was crying over.

"Hey, hey. Calm down. No need to be yelling. Why're you even getting so worked up about it, eh?"

Mark didn't like all the yelling. A constructive conversation couldn't be held with such behavior.

And her guess about the tree left him a bit suspicious of Julian's cousin.

With everyone on board, Meritursas adjusts his hold on the ship and then carries it away, swimming around the island before heading out to open sea.  The humans were arguing and crying again, nothing new there.

"you...need...light."  He growls, raising his voice to a point where it drowns out the bickering little creatures.

(It's a bit unnerving how much Julia seems to believe her own cover story.)

Kate scowled. Who was this lady, coming in here and accusing Trevor of being a liar when she wasn't even there! What, did she think he threw himself against a tree?!

Kate was startled by the sea monster's raised voice. She then timidly point to the giant, glowing lure he has sticking out if his head.

The creature dashed over to Wiffleball, curled into a ball next to him, and started weeping. All these people were yelling and crying! He didn't mean to do that! He seemed comforted by Wiffleball though for some strange reason.

Wiffleball watched Wheke abuse their newfound poking ability for quite some time, amused at the impression he'd made. Even though they had basically just met, he already enjoyed being around them. Well, there was also the fact that they were the only one to actually bother learning his name. He hadn't heard it spoken in quite some time, and it was almost refreshing to have someone say it aloud. Perhaps the others were like this as well? He hadn't been very interested in them before, but maybe...he could make some exceptions for them. Maybe things really would be okay!

His thoughts of future friendships were interrupted by something small bumping against his leg. Did the ship have mice or something? He turned to look at what had touched him, and almost jumped backwards in fright from the black, sobbing creature curled up on the deck. After a moment of composing himself, he took several slow steps away from the tiny abomination, now deeply unsettled by its presence.
