BUT how about we let Klei do their work so we actually get something new?- if they want standalone let them and maybe in future they can integrate it to DS (probably wont happen but maybe)- at least we get something new because it was long time since we get- Klei said that SW is coming in fall but if they have to change it to real DLC it will be forever long- Klei said that caves coming soon for DST - since there are complications this will be forever- Klei said that DST will get bug fixes, old content and time to time new content - since ewecus this isn't happening either so we have couple useless new items in DST from ewecus forever. There were also shiny amazing artworks for first three updates (i know i collect this stuf) and this is not happening either- Klei said that DS+ROG will get some new stuff from DST - this isn't happening soon either- Klei said that Trough the Ages "DLC" (this could change:) is coming in fall (at least from what i remember) and with caves complications this isn't happening either- Klei said that DS+ROG players getting something new (i don't know now if this is SW but since it is standalone - not actually DS+ROG players getting it - who knows)- Klei said that skins coming soon - again i don't have high hopes- Klei guys were much more active on forums with answers and actuall info - i think this changed too- there should be Invisible inc. DLC coming in fall - again i am not sure- EDIT: this is not their main concern probably but there was much more puzzles in the past (maybe even better?)Looks like they have tons of work/problems so we shouldn't give them more so we can see new DS content soon (that real soon word .) As much as i want SW to be in DS+ROG world i want more something new finally. Maybe i am impatient but this is how i see it now. Cyde042 Posted September 8, 2015 Share Posted September 8, 2015 It's hard to face my hypocrisy, but after a while I realized that the reason I want it to be a DLC is to be able to use the new items on old mobs and bosses (imagine going through the labyrinth, triggering all the depth dwellers in a swarm, and then throwing a coconade at them, isn't that great?). New furniture to decorate the base with, new birds to forever torment by stuffing them with countless veggies and fruits. And that's pretty much it, in comparison to all the new content SW has to offer... So I'll have to repeat myself, let SW be a separate game, but if you also own DS/DS+ROG, then you can mount it as DLC and Wolly becomes the portal to the SW world only (I don't see the need to explore the vanilla land with a boat or have islands spawn in it, it would be unpractical and annoying, let SW shine in its own way). But there will of course be technical difficulties IF they decide to port since they already are deep in development, looking forward to what they discussed at their meetings. If they add new content to old then we have x2 (maybe more) of everything since we can play with new stuff vs old stuff. Looks like this version vs whatever else that is happening lost and they went with standalone. I hope they give as anything soon (like yesterday) because i am refreshing these forums like crazy .) I think pushing for an early access beta test is a real option in order to soothe the spirits and prove that maybe it's a good idea to make it standalone and that there isn't much to lose. It just seems they have put lot on their plates to handle but one post every week or two about their progress could be ensuring and awesome even if it is something like: "This week we had big party because of reasons and now we are all hangover and cleaning our offices" and nobody would say boohoo why are you not working (at the end this is Klei forum and we are all awesome and supporting) but everyone would be: "congratulations to reasons Klei you deserve it" or "Next time make a video" or "Did you drink from potato cups?" I mentioned that it was a long weekend for us, which I realize could have meant different things. It was Labour day in Vancouver yesterday so we just got back to the office today. The discussion requires a couple meetings and then Jamie will post something when we have a good handle on what we can do; which should be today or tomorrow. Let Klei/Capy follow through with their vision for Shipwrecked, and when it's finished, we can see if everyone still has the same concerns about it being standalone. I worry that a beta for Shipwrecked will cause people to latch onto flaws inherent in a work in progress, and then we'll have this whole DLC vs Standalone fiasco again. Through the Ages was supposed to be worked on for the past several (or longer?) months, but issues with getting caves into the game means that hasn't really happened. I'm sure they will get to Through the Ages as soon as they finish caves.
