aeron
Whenever I make and host a new game it crashes mid - loading and gives a message that says "Out of Memory", even if I don't have mods. Please help me. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/56502-out-of-memory/ Share on other sites

MikeyMusic
Get more memory. Even though this answer is incredibly simple and obvious, it may actually be the correct answer. If your computer doesn't have enough memory to run the game when the memory load gets a little heavier, it won't be able to run. Simple as that. What are your specs? HDD size, HDD free space, RAM, Processor... and maybe the graphics card too? But I think the first 3 things are probably the most important for you to share. aeron
I"m using a laptop and here are my specs: Video Card: GT 840mProcessor: Intel Core i7-4510U CPU 2.00GHZ(4 CPUs)OS: Windows 8.1Memory Ram: 8GBHDD Size: 1TBHDD Free Space: 416GB I don't think I need more space, but anyway I hosted a game with no mods and it went perfectly fine we both got to day 6 and disconnected from the game to play some League. After the Lol game I wanted to play on the server by myself, I started the server and after 2 minutes of loading the "Out of Memory" message appeared. Snowhusky5
I had this same problem with the new update, it was because I was using a mod that changed the lock icons on locked recipes so they were smaller, but the update changed those, and the mod was crashing my game. when I turned it off, it worked fine. oCrapaCreeper
This whole memory thing has been more common since the patch, I don't think it has much to do with the OP's hardware or anything of the such. It could be mods but that my best guess. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/56502-out-of-memory/#findComment-657560 Share on other sites

I'll change my answer from "Get more memory" to a question - what address type is your operating system? Is it running an 8.1 32 bit by any chance (I can't fathom how that would be possible but you never know with laptop assemblies nowadays). Your system should definitely be able to breeze through the game, and you also have plenty more to host the server. Your CPU should be able to keep up with the load as well. It could also be the recent update as has already been mentioned. I would say file a technical complaint with Klei see what comes up - otherwise look into how your OS is managing your resources cause there's clearly something wrong somewhere. WillPwn4Food
Get more memory. I think you can download it online now. At least I downloaded some RAM the other day, but my computer is moving at a crawl now. Gonna have to get it checked out Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/56502-out-of-memory/#findComment-657832 Share on other sites

Developer nome Posted July 28, 2015 Developer Share Posted July 28, 2015 You should not be OOMing with 8GB of RAM. Please send details (especially your log file!) to support so we can look into this.
