Derpime Posted June 25, 2015 Share Posted June 25, 2015 Today,i jumped in a server to play an hour or so.Then i realized that i was starving,the base didn't have ANY food left.And the worst thing is,the base was in middle of desert.There was some food left.But with 4 people in the base,those food was gone in 1 day. So,i volunteer myself to find some food in the forest,sadly that i cannot use the ice hat,since it would destroy my sanity(i was WX-78).And i couldn't go far since i would be overheating and i don't want to just sit there and wait until the fire pit gone out and either get kill by hunger or get kill by strangly enough,sanity I was trying and trying,the best attempt was on the edge of desert and forest.I know there is the endothermic fire camp and such but it is very very immobile,you can only just sit there in the day and travel at night,which is not very efficient+the huge amount of nitre and logs loss for every single camp.So i looked at the crafting bar and this idea just popped out of nowhere in my mind Long story short,Klei,please add this item in DST or maybe even in DS.It will have the same effect as endothermic fire pit and a normal torch.But it cannot light thing on fireAnd the recipe would be 2 twigs+nitre People who has in this kind of situation,share me your story,so i can killing time by reading them. Bahlsen Posted June 25, 2015 Share Posted June 25, 2015 We could survive winter by burning things with a torch but there were no equivalent for summer and it felt wrong then boom, whirly fan. Now, an equivalent solution doesn't have to be symetric. The little fan brings diversity and it's overall so perfect to me that I disagree with your suggestion which would to me make it too easy. DarkXero Posted June 25, 2015 Share Posted June 25, 2015 The problem here is that in winter you can lose 100 health while you freeze trying to find a torch to keep you warm.You will likely find that torch. In summer all twigs are withered. That means no whirly fan. Maybe grass should wither but twigs shouldn't? So unless you enter a wasteland, you will find twigs and flowers. It is a bit harder to do than making a torch in winter, but not impossible. I've gotten stacks of grass/twigs from tumbleweeds, and they're year-round things.
