LadyWerebeaver
It's been MONTHS since I've actively played Don't Starve due to some ridiculousness at work (adulting is hard and boring...) and now that things are settling down and I'm trying to pick it back up everything seems distantly familiar, but pretty foggy. When I gave up the game, I was playing Woody and had used Maxwell's door to make a temporary base to let me play Adventure Mode as much as possible to unlock Maxwell. Now that I'm back I successfully unlocked Maxwell and I'm trying to plan my great escape to my next world where I will try to set up a permanent base that is more centered around a Pig King than Maxwell's door. I already know a few items that I want to take with me (Max stacks of grass, twigs, wood, gold, fireflies, hounds tooth, walking cane, pre-built placeables) but I'd love to hear some suggestions and learn what you pack for your own great escapes! TheShankingTurtle
Bring some silk, as its super useful.I bring a tentacle spike just in case i can't get a good weapon early on (spears are trash once you consider how easy it is to get a spike)Hopefully you will have a good setup by winter so don't bring any of those suppliesSometimes i bring a miner's hat as wellPig skin is also very important! So kill an entire village the keep their flesh
LadyWerebeaver
Oh yeah! I forgot about how much pig skin I need. All good tips thank you
StaypuftMMM
Are you packing for the early or late game part of the next world? Personally, I pack for the late game so carry as many "bigger" items as possible. Things like stacks of jewels, rope (instead of grass), thulecite, pig skins, gears, silk, frazzled wires, hound's teeth, miner's hat, walking cane and things like that. Not all of these items are super hard to acquire but may take more work then just mining a few rocks, picking berries or anything. Now, if I am packing in order to be ready to set up base immediately (besides pre-building), I would probably carry other things, such as stacks of rocks, flint, charcoal, rope, twigs, boards, silk, pig skin, gears, etc. Of course, there would be some overlap. LadyWerebeaver
I tried the game wiki, but it didn't tell me- what do frazzled wires do? I've never been too comfortable grave digging so I usually avoid it, I didn't think any of the items had any use other than to trade the Pig King for gold. It falls under the category of "gravedigger trinkets".
StaypuftMMM
Frazzled wires can be exchanged to the Pig King for 5 gold each. In the Ruins, I typically run across a lot of them. So taking as many of those as possible instead of gold is more space efficient then carrying gold itself. Of course, I have to find the Pig King first to convert them but taking just 15-20 frazzled wires in one slot is equivalent to 75-100 gold. To carry the same amount in gold itself would take up 4-5 carrying slots (since gold only stacks to 20 at a time).
TheTraditionalGentleman
This may be an obvious question, but can you use a backpack when going to another world?
Mobbstar
This may be an obvious question, but can you use a backpack when going to another world? Of course. I recommend using a piggy back, filling it with mid- to late-game resources and drop it right away in the new world (assuming you don't have the Krampus sack). I don't suppose you have any tips for getting the Krampus sack? The only time I got it was as Woodie (during a werebeaver rampage), and I had no idea how rare it was. I later died on that world :\

I'm not sure if shadow images are perceivable to birds/rabbits, would be OP if not. I suppose you can slaughter a pig village or the tallbird fort to further increase naugtiness. It's a lot harder to go on a killing spree when I'm not the werebeaver. I'm currently owning as Wilson, but maybe I will do a daytime raid on my piggie neighbors . . . TheTraditionalGentleman
And as to what I'd bring on my great escape, I'd definitely go with late game items, much like StaypuftMMM. Rather than bring rocks, grass, and logs, it would save a lot of time and be a lot more space efficient to bring cut stone, rope, and boards. Plus all the Thucelite you can carry, because isn't it a non-renewable resource?
Mobbstar
Plus all the Thucelite you can carry, because isn't it a non-renewable resource? Only if you use that stuff anyways. I personally only use it rarely, so I use it as filler when I have space left.Things like fireflies, tentacle spots, etc. may also be in your interest, as they may be more useful to you than thulecite.
