Don't Starve movie/official comic/tv show/etc?

Recommended Posts

Why hasn't there been an official comic or tv show or something, that would be like the best thing ever. Klei have made trailers and little animated videos and stuff but with text and the characters voices (the instruments) added in with a story would be so god damn amazing, I'm surely not the only person to have thought of this before. Just saying.

This kind of thread has popped up quite a few times.

1. There are no good video game movies

2. It doesn't need a comic, it'd give away too much, as Klei prefers doing everything all secret-sauce like

3. it'd be pretty dang boring after a while, don't starve only has so many playable days until you get to just sitting in your base all day waiting to kill more hounds.

Fair enough, I still think little videos like what Team Fortress 2 does would be pretty great. But its unlikely that Klei will make any, they are pretty darn busy right now(<<not sarcasm)

They need to know it's worth doing. They're not a very big team, after all. I think it could work, as there's an entire set of backstories that could be made into short stories, but again, they need to know if it'll generate the traffic and interest.

I mean the posts in this thread alone basically say "Nah, we don't really want it."

An actual book would be amazing. It doesn't even need pictures. Book one would be about Wilson. Each book might have 4 parts (with however many chapters) with each part being a season. Just think of the end of autumn

Sitting down by the crackling fire Wilson felt a bit of satisfaction.

"I'm finally getting the hang of this" he thought. And indeed it was true. After spending what must have been three months on the island he had finally constructed a decent base. He had food, he had plenty of supplies, and he had -- suddenly Wilson felt a cold sting on his hand.

"What was tha-" he felt it again. And this time he saw what had caused it. It was a snowflake. Wilson's blood ran cold; the roaring fire now feeling much less warm. He had plenty of supplies, but winter was coming. And this time It might be more than he could survive . . . .

Part 2 (or 4)

Winter

I almost fet goosebumps just thinking of it XD
