Your personal favourite Character for AM?

Recommended Posts

Well, I just wanted to know the impressions of you people considering your fav for the Adventure Mode?

Mine are Woodie and Wilson, Woodie due to his Beaver form plus the advantage you'll get from Lucy, on Archiepelago for example. But considering the weakness the Beaver comes with(Sanity/HP/Hunger Penalty) and him being "unable" to cut down many trees in a row makes me feel like Wilson is the better choice, I still haven't finished AM yet(died 5/5 -.-). I personally feel like Wilson is the best choice due to him having no negative things about the Abilities and the beard being a reliable small protection from freezing plus the Option of making the effigy! :)

Let's establish a difference between best and favorite :3

For example, WX-78 is not the best for Adventure Mode because you really only have gears aplenty in one mission. But he is one of my favourites.

But Wilson is the best because there are no notable disadvantages that Adventure Mode can manipulate.

Webber. Monster Meat seems to be in abundance, as are Spiders in general. Plus, I can just plop a Spider's Nest down on the Wooden Thing area and come back in a few days to it being cleared. His low sanity in general makes it a lot easier to manage, since it takes less items to raise or lower it.

Agreed. I beat adventure mode on my first go because I played as Webber.

As much as I love Woodie and play him normally, I've found he's tough in adventure mode.

They way I play AM is by being a nomad, basically, not really making a camp and just trying to get out of each world as quickly as possible. Woodie is much better at getting a ton of resources and making elaborate, stable camps, I've found.

Right now I'm trying to beat it with Wickerbottom, as she's pretty good at being a nomad, having the science boost. The downside is you don't often get to use many of her special books at all, not having time to craft them.

I haven't finished AM yet, though, so I suppose I'm missing some perspective. :)

I got very far in AM with Wigfrid. I just use brute force and boss rush the entire thing. But the winter stage gets me every time.

Winter Maps are the easiest for me, I love King of Winter, I like the map, the setting, everything. Deerclops comes to my advantage there, I kite him towards some beefalo in order to make him kill them. Afterwards I lure him away, collect the food+wool+horns and "craft" myself the Meat Stew, then I'm crafting as many recipies as possible and proceed to the next level! :)

Disagree on WX-78 not being the best.  He feels like cheating to me.  Once he's fully upgraded he's just the tankiest little tank ever to tank, and gears are a non-rotting source of significant restoration for every stat.  Particularly useful in Darkness when you need the sanity restore.  Plus you can carry twice as many as you can jerky, which is my usual standard food.  And with a wooden thing guarded by clockworks in each world, you can build up a decent pile of them.
