naimo
hello guys, i want to know about your suggestion and ways on how to harvest your honey, is there a way where u can harvest and wont get the bees angry? well in winter they dont actually get mad when you harvest and do dont produce either.. wearing armor and hats sure is effective, but when using abigail its quite a different story. you see my guardian ghost keep on attacking them until she dies which results of her reverting back on being a flower. and the bee "stinger" that usually drop when a bee dies is very annoying to see on my garden, its very messy and i have like 5 honey factory.. any ideas? Mobbstar
Step 1: find the foundaments of a "roadblocker" iglu.Step 2: return in winterStep 3: stay until you get a tuskStep 4: make the possibly most dapper item in the game Now you can quickly run away before the bees get to harm you! It requires a tiny bit of reaction time, but that shouldn't be an issue. Lacost
The PlayBeebook ~ The sloth-reaction ~ Harvest honey and just stand there until the honey is in your inventory. You will however get stung by all spawned bees. ~ The "Soon!" ~ Wait until the maximum of bees has spawned from the beebox. This should be around four bees. Then you are able to harvest without spawning a hostile bee.... but you probably have to wait half a day near your bee boxes, hidden in a bush, together pinched eyes and only thinking: Soon! ~ The beefalo ~ Yeah, harvesting honey in spring can be really annyoing. Luckily there are hostile beefalos out there. So just place your beeboxes in the middle of them and watch how those nasty red insects get wrecked. After the massacre you can collect some dropped honey and safely harvest your bee boxes. Better don't forget your beefalo hat! ~ The bearger ~ Unfortunately this fluffy furred bear-raccoon-whatever, appears only once in a year and he really likes honey. Just show him your beeboxes and he will destroy them immediately. Congrats, now you can collect the honey safely and are able to rebuild the destroyed boxes since they are yielding the honeycomb. ... you just have to be a little bit quick because bearger will eat the honey and the honeycomb ... and he will attack you once you "steal" too much honey from him .... and he is a giant who will kill you in no time if you are incautious. Maybe quite inefficient in many ways.... ~ The blitz ~ Time your movements perfectly and equip the walking cane to quickly run off the bee box. Those stupid bees won't be able to sting you at all! Haha! ~ The lightspeed ~ It's a very simple method! Just play as WX-78, get struck by lightning and overcharge, equip a lazy explorer, a magilumine scence and place your beebox on a road. Now just teleport away from the beebox by using the lazy explorer. As I said! As simple as it can be! ~ The tank ~ Equip a beekeeper's hat and a log suit. Now those tiny but sharp stingers won't be able to hurt you at all much *rubs his hurting bee sting* ~ The forcefield ~ Get a thulecite crown and activate the forcefield. Now you can laugh at the bees while stealing their honey! ~ The winter-jerk ~ Imagine you are a hard working labourer! You have to get out of your home every day in a hostile world full of spiders, walking pigs, hungry beargers, rioting beefalos and mean humans which are all named after the letter "W". It's a hard job but if you want to have something to eat whilst winter, you have to do it. Luckily your working contract is not including going outside in the cold winter seasons --> you don't have to defend your honey if someone would steal it.Now there is this winter-jerk who waits until it's winter to make use of this lack in the labour law and *wush* your whole honey is gone. Unfair isn't it? ~ The magician ~ Step 1: Build a telelocator focus.Step 2: Craft a telelocator staff.Step 3: Harvest the beebox.Step 4: Use the telelocator staff immediately after you get the honey.Step 5: Get stung anyways because the animation takes too long! (darn it!) ~ The immortal ~ Craft a meat effigy or a life giving amulett and make use of them. Harvest as much honey as you can until the bees will kill you. Since you can't die entirely return and collect your dropped honey next to your skeleton. the truthseeker
you see, i can easily run away.. but ABIGAIL, im using ABIGAIL with a GHOST so basically, everytime i harvest honey, THE TWIN SISTER fights them off resulting to her death, After harvesting it, keep running until yu are several screens away and have her follow you. Also engaging something else in combat can help. ZnSstr
1. Winter2. Bees hat But in Winter if you focus only on ice and honey, you can live rest of the seasons only with honey ham and meat balls. With this strategy starving is not an option. With rest you will take damage. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/41883-safest-way-in-harvesting-honey/#findComment-550255 Share on other sites
naimo
instead of doing something special, i made about 15+ bee factory in a isolated part of my base with lots of flowers, the more factory the slower they can produce honey, and hopefully it will be like from spring to winter or atleast close to winter ^^.. im planning to make about 20+, still roaming the map though to find more bee hives.. tetrified
There is a mod that when you harvest some honeys abigail won't attack angry bees. Abigail AI mods are probably the best if you don't want to install the mod that makes bees not attack you when you're wearing the beekeeper hat and harvesting honey (I personally think it's too cheat-y but if you don't, your world your rules and all) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/41883-safest-way-in-harvesting-honey/#findComment-550661 Share on other sites
zzy
I don't think there is a way not to anger the bees when harvesting bee box.Just equip your walking stick and quickly run away, far enough so the bees stop chasing you.Taking no damage at all.l Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/41883-safest-way-in-harvesting-honey/#findComment-551418 Share on other sites
DevilsSlide
Is the risk of injury in harvesting honey really worth it's benefits? Those bee stings really hurt! Best bet, work quickly. Try to work when the bees are away or in the winter.
