I was thinking about this in the shower in this morning. As i have not bought the DLC yet...thinking if Don't Starve launches multiplayer mode one day, I will definitely get it and come back to this game...and now its 100% buying it! Im soooooo happy!! Seriously Happy!  :willow:

You can say what ever you want in any language as long as it doesn't offend anyone, and welcome to the forum :)

A cool idea for the death mechanic would be that if one player dies, the other player must use certain rare resources to preform a ritual in order to bring them back (I guess this would be done in the magic tab...). In the meanwhile, the player who died would  be in a kind of spectate mode on the other player so while their twiddling their thumbs at least they can backseat drive and get real angry. Alternatively you could do like what you did with Webber's skull and the player who is still living must take the dead players skull to a grave and bury them. That would be neat. It would also add a limit to the reincarnations based on how many graves are on the map instead of how many resources a player has. Objectives are always nice.

What do you think? Any other ideas?

Language: Users are expected to communicate in English while using our services and support. Services include things like our websites, social media pages, support systems, blogs and forums. We're an English based company, and as much as we'd love to help you in Swahili, Klingon or some other language, we work best in English. In the event that additional language services are deemed appropriate, these services will be made available when Klei Entertainment has the ability to offer support in these languages. - JoeW

Come to think of it...I don't recall having to use Google Translate a lot on this forum. I guess people are allowed to speak in a foreign language but there will obviously be a lack of support due to language barriers.

I think the hardest thing to think about multiplayer is the sleepin' mechanic, everythin' can be done well.

Food - Try to feed 4 players, for example, you gonna need a gigantic farm to do so.
Monsters - They can just do as Borderlands, when a player join in the monster get stronger.
Cave - Maybe 2 ways, a "standing by" when someone wants to go in a cave so he just wait until everyone is ready OR just let him go alone anyways while the other player is doin' whatever he wants.
Adventure Mode - Just remove it from multiplayer, simple, make the Adventure Mode Single Player only, this is a challenge anyways and playin' it with your friends would easy the challenge, make it exclusive for Single Player and it will have a purpose.
Sleepin' - Maybe do it like Minecraft did, all the player must sleep to complete the transition from night to day.

I bet there's some problems with NPCs such as Maxwell Shadow's or Wendy Sister's Ghost attackin' the other players but I'm just guessin'.

Hey @Baou

I disagree. I would love to play adventure mode with my friends.

I know but it would destroy all the difficulty with Adventure Mode, would be pretty much like "I go this way, you go that..." and people would find the items pretty quickly and lettin' it exclusive for single player would be a purpose for you to play Single Player at least to unlock Waxwell.

acctually imo you have to be one of the DS elite (those people with day 400 bases in the show off thread) to beat adventure alone, I personally have only made it a max of 3 worlds in alone, (and thats with a mod that lets bring four full backpacks through the teleportato). And perhaps reaching the very end could prove an interesting twist, like with Streets of Rage (old sega game) where iirc you have to beat the snot out of your ally in order to take on the last boss, in this case you fight for the right to unlock maxwell.

Any updates (from Klei staff) on current status or any hint of news? Thanks in advance and really looking forward to this! Cheers.

But i'm confuse, this ver can play Multiplayer or not ?

There is no version of Don't Starve available to the public yet. That won't happen until (likely) late August. and even then, it'll be alpha.
