Hi @Amkar good point. I hope anything new (apart from balancing the game) is still available for everyone to play in single player. Or even better add options to world customisation so we have the choice to play alone but with the challenges and difficulty of playing as a team.

I genuinely don't understand why some people are against this. We've all trusted Klei with their updates up until now, and suddenly everyone is against it? I don't get it.

Also, if people are worried about item drops/players dying there are lots of ideas around.

Meat effigy's for example could require specific ingredients, for example, Willow would need charcoal for her effigy, and it would only be in her crafting menu. And if players die, they could drop a gravestone with their inventory buried underneath, with the gravestone saying the name/ players name.

These are just my ideas though, Klei may have their own plans already implemented in the multiplay folder.

Jumping off of this post: Please, please don't make multi-player exclusive content that can't be accessed by single-players or have some single-player version offered.

 

I was very disappointed to see the email sporting the puzzle picture was just to announce multi-player.  One of the reasons I bought and enjoyed this game was that it was so well done as a single-player experience.  It was nice having the confidence that whatever was added would always be focused on that.  I've never cared much for multi-player, so I generally avoid games that have exclusive content for that mode.  There's nothing more annoying than wanting to use or do something, but not have the option to go solo.  I'd really hate to miss out on new craftables, recipes, biomes, etc. just because I prefer that style of play

 So,out of the many things that should be fixed, the many creatures we want to be added, every single possible thing that could be added, they add what they said they'd never add? That they've always been against?

I dont even know what to feel, or what to say, i feel like i lost the respect i had for klei, but oh well its some weird news, ill see if i still happen to have respect for you guys when i get used to this later, that is, if i do get used to it.

Where in my post did i say something about it affecting singleplayer in a bad way? Or in anyway? BTW they also used to say that multiplayer wouldnt happen, yet here we are.

 And yes, this WILL affect single player, they said they'd add something new besides multiplayer, im waiting for see that, if they add something good, like one of the many things the community heavily supported and wanted, then I'll apologize for doubting so much of them, however before that, my opinion remains as the post i made.

It wasn't my intention to imply or suggest that they were 'leeching off money'  O.o  I was concerned about missing out on content because I prefer single-player to multi-player.  Both Corey and JanH made reassuring posts regarding that, which were very nice to receive (especially so quickly).  It's also been mentioned that the reason they've gone ahead with multi-player is they were able to hire new people so they could concentrate on both modes, rather than single-player suffering from a shift of focus.  So they're definitely trying to keep us all in the loop for new developments
