So what about the "events"?

Recommended Posts

I know that the developers mentioned something about "events" taking place, which they stated alongside the release of Webber and the giants. Webber and the giants are here (however lackluster their drops may be), but I've seen no mention of the events.

What are they? Are they still coming? Are they here and I'm unlucky/stupid?

Maybe on a particular day out of a season something will happen?

My ideas for some events would be:

1) Krampus will spawn around the end of winter, regardless of naughtiness to simulate Christmas

2) Beefalo migration, where they move from grassland to grassland

3) Pig holiday, where they are friendly and give gifts (like gears, gold, papyrus, ect.)

4) Spider infestation, where they hunt down your base (potentially indicated by chests, a science machine, and a fire pit) and make a nest there

5) Tornados that only go into grasslands and pull things out of the ground, dropping them later on (maybe as a warning for the Moose/Goose?)

6) Spider breeding season, where all of the spiders in a tier 3 den go out and make 3 tier 1 dens, leaving spider eggs behind

These would happen once every year (80 days in Don't Starve time) and repeat the next year.

Number 1 could be tweaked a bit, like if you had no naughtiness points at all krampus leaves a gift.

Or possibly it would depend on how many naughtiness points you had?

0 = Krampus sack gift

>Half = Gold/Gems/Junk

Around half = Rare mob drops

<Half = Grass, Twigs, Rocks, Logs, Flint,

Around max = Rot

Max = Steals things

This post says otherwise; the giants and the "events" are listed as separate entities.

Okay. So let's list "events" we know happen in game

1.) Frog Rain- yep, adventure mode's smiting us.

2.) Goose/Moose egg somewhere in the world- Still can't find them!

Hold on, the Goose egg can spawn somewhere in the world? I thought that was just a myth and the egg spawns near the Goose, which happened to me. How exactly does the egg work?! I have no idea!

I think the Goose/Moose spawns along with the egg.

The G'Goose hunts you down while the egg is spawned randomly.

Don't quote me on that, but that seems like a reasonable way on how it works, as I have seen people fighting the egg and G'Goose at once.

Two Worlds starts you in summer... You can probably guess how that is gonna end.

Oh dear. I guess they expect you to collect ice, make an ice cube, and prototype endothermic firepits before going in, then, huh?

Good god that was a bad design choice. They should at least nerf the summer so it's a counterpart of winter, and not the hardest season.

Easy-----------------------------Hard

Autumn>Spring>Winter>Summer

Autumn>Spring>Winter=Summer

Autumn>Spring>Winter>Summer

Autumn>Spring>Winter=Summer

It's probably not intended, because they didnt think about adventure mode when making RoG probably.

Summer should stay the same, even if Two Worlds is impossible until they make it start you in autumn or something. The wildfire world gen setting is kind of broken, because even if you set it to none i still get wildfires often.

and top of that you cant be sure if Two Worlds happens to be the third or the fourth map on adventure mode,so you cant be sure if you have to prepare yourself for this hellish summer or winter

Well I tried adventure mode with RoG enabled and I did not have Two Worlds at all.

A Cold Reception > King of Winter > Archipelago > The Game is Afoot > Darkness...
