Wigfrid and Butterfly wings

Recommended Posts

Chitin is a glucose monomer while tubulin is protein monomer; to say butterly wings are meat is to say ice cream is made out of ice. But seriously, butter is a dairy product that comes from the cow. Then again, Don't Starve Universe is a strange and magical place that does not apply real world logic. We just have to accept this and move on.

Wigfrid can eat eggs. She ought to be able to eat other animal byproducts as well. The same thing happened to me with the butter  :frown-new:

It's not a matter of us looking at each food and saying yay or nay for Wigfrid being able to eat each one: every edible item has a food type and there are a variety of systems that rely on those food type definitions (most prominently: crock pot cooking). If we had the luxury, we could make some tweaks to what Wigfrid can and cannot eat to make the rules clearer, but changing any of those definitions could potentially have large ripple effects through these other systems, so it's not a safe change to make give the time we have. Rather than take the time to make sure that gets done right, we've left everything as is and she is able to eat anything defined as meat.
