Wwlink55
In the new update, the new Birch/deciduous treegaurds seem to spawn incredibly often (6/10 trees cut down seems to spawn one or more, regardless of the time...), making it difficult to get wood in a biome consisting of these trees. Are they meant to be this common? Because it makes life in what used to be a safe biome a disaster. Maybe the spawn rate could be reduced? Because chopping one down in an area, regardless of time, seems to spawn two or three, and if your really unlucky, five at once. EDIT: Can a mod move this to the DLC feedback? Didn't realize I was posting in the wrong forum section. Snob
I agree. They're pretty common, they should try to tone it down. There is no reason to chop down multiple birch trees, they're too much of a pain. I heard that planting nuts calm them down. That'll probably make things easier. fine as isThat's some great constructive feedback. Thank you for your opinion. MilleniumCount
I just started to play RoG with the Update recently (broken pc etc.) and quickly got swarmed by three of them...^ ^Do they ever revert into a normal tree again or do they stay in guard mode forever after being triggered once? Perhaps with planting a nut?If they stay forever until one kills them they should be perhaps tuned down a tad bit. Not too much though...the challenge is appreciated but in a manageable way perhaps? Hantoki
I chopped down 1 Birchtree on day 1 and they spawned on me. The first time they spawned on me I had no idea so it was pitch black out with my little campfire. They spawned and I ended up running in circles for the entire night. So at least that was a fun experience. Tumalu
They're meant to be an almost-always spawn if you chop down birch trees. These trees aren't easy wood like the other ones! However, yes, you can calm them down by planting a birchnut near them; they'll also eventually turn back to normal trees by themselves (But it takes a long while) or you could clear them out easily with a torch. Birchguards actually do have uses if you get creative, but yeah, birch trees aren't for just chopping to get wood unless you really, really need it. Harken
Plant a nut and the mob with revert to a normal tree. Also if you leave the area and come back after (a day?) they'll still be there but won't attack you on sight, so that you can then run around planting nuts to calm them all down. Late game I just go in with an army of pig bros at my back, we can clear an entire deciduous forest with no problem. I only do this to clear space however since the drop rate for nuts barely makes farming deciduous trees for wood sustainable.
