...that Don't Starve randomly where at 92% sale on steam for a few minutes? (Now it's at 66%)

My group of friends with basically no-life, chase promotions on sales, they refresh every 5 minutes to find occasions like that.

When this 92% promotions started they literally bought 200 houndred copies and will sell them after new year in my highschool for 6€ each, that is around twice as much the promotion got, I am pretty sure it is illegal, but hey, I sometimes recieve free steam games for giving them costumers.

This is disgraceful behaviour. Taking full advantage of a unintentional mistake is an exploit. It's a cheap and disgusting way to profit. People who abuse in such a way will only lose out in the long run. I honestly feel disgusted.

So you're telling me steam intentionally put Don't Starve up for 92% off for a period of around 10-20mins so people can profit? Either some nut case came into work this morning drunk or you are being sarcastic. I can't tell. I myself had a long day at work and come back to the steam Don't Starve forum with over 300 unread messages most of which were reported posts. So right now I would even answer a rhetorical question. I need a cup of tea and my foot rest before I go back into J20 mode.

I doubt it was intentional... do they usually go above 80% off? 

 

I don't know how these things work but I'm guessing it was an error in there somewhere and with how busy the Store is, it probably took that long to fix it?

I'm calling it - either one of two things will happen. Either HL3 will be multiplayer or there will be no HL3. Since it's easy to say there won't be a HL3, I'll put my money on it being multiplayer just to make it interesting.

My friends are not the only glitch sharkers, there might be thousands of them, Steam really should recompensate them, canceling bought copies would be kind of jerk way to do it.

I'd bet all my money they'd never do that. This isn't the first time this has happened, and this isn't hte first time Steam has screwed up. I bet there's a clause in the agreement anyway

Look, even if the flash discounts were intentional, the reselling of copies for personal financial gain without the approval of Valve AND Klei is outright illegal. Reselling is a mandatory licensing requirement and the game is copyrighted so only those who make selling agreements can do this without legal backlash when found out. 

 

And yes i have personally read the posts and replies shared by people who have gotten their Steam accounts banned doing this type of thing before (and a few lucky ones just having their trading banned and their accounts reinstated.)

At the time, for them it was just "Steam put DS up for 92% off". There's no way of knowing if it's intentional or not right after it changes. So you can't bash on people for buying the game at that low price. Bash on Steam instead.
