2 Chesters?

Recommended Posts

I was trying to explore my ruins, but i spent a whole summer without getting there, so as soon as i arrived, 1000 worms came to murder me with success. I revived on my meat effigy, grabbed my amulet and return there, now with some rock lobsters.

Sadly,my chester died. So i waited in the ruins until he came back, grab my loot and came back to the surface. And then, another chester with all the itens that he was before he died?

I went down the cave again to see if that second one would disappear but he kept following me.

I do use mods but none of them affects chester. I use: Always on Status,Max Stacks and Architetural Mod (That one that creates kind of a grid to help place things)

What should i do now? ...

Also, english is not my first language. I hope that you understand .

I can't remember if Dying brings back Multiple Chesters still or if this Exploit was fixed in a Hotfix. Again, is this an old Save?

Oh,now i get it. The build of Don't starve is recent but the world is from before "All well that is Maxwell" update. Sorry for the confusion.

As much as i hate to see people's updates go, some things to work properly may require a world reboot (new game or Teleportato.) I'm not sure if that Chester thing is one of them.

I just reached 200 days,if i go through the teleportato i will die to hounds the second i put my foot in that new world.

I guess i will delete that extra chester and never came back to that specific ruin. Because i still have other sinkholes to open, that will create another cave with the latest hotfix,i hope...

But thanks for the help :)

No, you won't. The teleportato (once again) resets the day Count to 1 and the corresponding Hound count.

This is why it's important to go to a new world so the last of any Hotfixes will be properly working in any world. (I know it's not as visually clear as things like the Totally Normally Tree update, but the same reasoning applies.)  I am still unsure if the new cave generation in the same world actually incorporates the said hotfixes or not. I'll let other members and/or Klei answer that.

This happened to me as well after my recent fail. My Chester had 20xLiving Logs and 18xNightmare Fuel (you can see them in the second screenshot, they are on the ground to the left) when I died in the cave. After reviving at my meat effigy, I discovered that my Chester was waiting for me at the entrance to the cave (aboveground) having all the previous stuff inside him. So I went back in the caves, grabbed all the stuff from the Chester that died and added everything up resulting in me doubling the amount of items that Chester had inside him before I died. ( => 40xLiving Logs and 36xNightmare Fuel).

Now imagine doing this on purpose but with Chester having his entire inventory filled with stacks of Thulecite or guardian horns. I don't mind wasting some renewable beard hair or fried meats.

-edit- I encountered this on a world I created just after the latest hotfixes.

Ok. I will think about it. But thanks again for the help.

My base is totally worth these bugs  Not gonna give up on my old world any time soon.

Mine too. And i just reached 200 days for the second time ever.

By the way,2 chesters can be very helpful. My inventory is such a mess sometimes.

Yeah,that would be great.

Mine was with 8 tusks,3 honey hams and some more common stuff (logs, grass, etc.)

I like how you're acting like having 2 chesters is some sort of debilitating issue which must be remedied as quickly as possible.

Well,it wasn't supposed to happen. Inventory management is a very important part of this game and have extra 9 slots change it a lot. That's why inventory expandable mods are so popular.

It will change almost nothing for me,as i get used to just one chester + backpack combo if i need space.

Yeah, this happens.
Not that I mind the construction amulet dupes I got from it, but it should still be fixed.

Also, if you re-enter the ruins after dying, you'll end up right where you died, instead of your entry location on that level, which can also be helpful, but still a bug.
Then there's the pigs, who seem to not reenter their houses at night while you're under there; I always find a gang of werepigs waiting for me.

Bottomline is, the ruins, and the way they sync with above ground, still needs fixing.
