What is the best way to manage Woodie's Curse?

Recommended Posts

Green mushrooms + fire = problem solved. If you can't find them... then you are just planing too damn far ahead and you need to just get your hands dirty and figure this out on the fly.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to have a "perfect scenario" plan in the early game. Just do the best you can until you have an established base, then worry about all the other stuff.

Idk. I think it's possible, depending on what happens. You should get your bearings, take inventory of what's around, and make a plan according to what you got.

That's "figuring it out on the fly".

Sure you can have an IDEA of what you want to do in the best case, but until you actually pick the items up or find the spawn area of what you want, it's all chance.

Read the damn posts, he doesn't want to leave anything to luck.

I did read the damned posts.

Hence why in my original point I added the "or a chest tbh". If the beaver can't chop enough wood to maked a damned chest then there's much more wrong here than simply a lack of silk. Drying racks are grass, sticks, and charcoal, small jerky is rabbits. All of which you will be able to find and/or make in the early game if you haven't turned them off like a dumbass.

Half this game is luck. Monster drops are run on a statistic engine, the worlds are built on statistics, the game is run on luck.

Luck happens.

Going off-topic here

You two need to put on some sparing gear and get this out of your system.

Hush while I test the dislikes. So far, results show that you will get the dislike back no matter what you say.

Just proven wrong. Move along. xD

The point I was making was that I gave you +rep even after you told me to hush. In any rate, you were provoking Nebulous with the language you were using (hell, I felt provoked when you told me to hush). It's rather easy to see why he would dislike your posts. Now stop antagonizing people for whatever fancy you get out of it. It's not cute, it's against forum etiquette, and honestly, makes you look like a jerk.

I hope we can move away from this without any hard feelings. You are one of the guys I actually like around here. (and TooMuchHoneyHam 'cuse he's "SPECHUL")

In regards to making items that help recovery needing silk:

Would it be possible to enter a cave and at the inside entrance/first room,  just before you (plant trees in there earlier and artificially trigger it, or on full moon cycle) turn and kite a bunch of spiders to the entrance then kill them there? If needed, you could even place some log stacks before this to heal up if you need to extend your time. But honestly, I never tried it that way in caves before so it's speculation.

I can say once you turn, you should not be able to enter/exit caves in that form, so be prepared with healing/sanity restoring items nearby wherever you decide to revert.

Green mushrooms are highly recommended if you can't yet make clothing, but a simply placed science machine (or higher if you made an Alchemy engine by now if you so wish,) should be able to make a Top Hat with the spoils.

Hey you forgot something (as did everyone else in this thread, but you have made this point in multiple threads in the past)... prototyping restores sanity. This could also be used during the beginning days of the game to help combat the beaver-fatigue. *snicker*

Ok, Ok... I stopped laughing... can we make this a thing? Can we call the side effects of Woodie's curse beaver-fatigue? That would be increadibly awesome. xD

Yeah, prototyping works, but due to the "drop evrything" resources, it may not be as practical as other characters to do it this way.

It depends when you revert (if daytime or dusk/night) and how long it takes to get your stuff again and how much your sanity will change (if any) from retreival attemps and getting to a Crafting Machine.

And (once I finally stopped laughing,) I second the Beaver fatigue! You earned that  Like @Ortorin!

Just proven wrong. Move along. xD
