This isn't a complaint, based on the headline, I know some people might find it offensive and some of you might be laughing but I am not losing hope.

A year has gone by since we received an update regarding Wendy's skill tree. 

Thus far, other characters have acquired a skill tree. I think Wendy's skilltree has the worst overall design. I haven't touched DST because of how much I love Wendy. I am planning to play DST again.

Would Klei/developers PLEASE let me know whether they plan to revisit Wendy's skilltree in the future? I just need a response, and I'm willing to wait no matter how long it will take for them to revisit it.

All characters need to get their skill trees first and even after that we shouldn't go into this endless character update spiral. We had refreshes and now skill trees, do DST developers really need to work on characters forever? The time and effort put towards characters could be used on updates that everyone can access.

I can’t believe after over a year people are still treating Wendy’s skill tree like it’s the worst thing ever. 

ive played Wendy several times with the tree with various different skills. The skill tree is fine. She’s extremely strong with it and pretty fun as well

I think her skill tree's good overall, but I really wish Klei would just make the Team Spirit skills have separate cooldowns. Why can't I do commands in sequence for combos? That allows for so much skill expression and creativity. I've played without the cooldowns using a mod, but no cooldowns at all is too strong. Simply having separate ones would be the perfect middle-ground.

Honestly each skill tree release makes me wish we got another one for Wendy. Late game just feels like a chore compared to the other characters. Her skill tree just doesn't offer anything of substance and each tree feels extremely half baked. Why kite and worry about Abigail when i can switch to so many other characters and just facetank. I was hoping Abigail would have a more robust part of the tree to help her late game but even Gestalt feels weak in comparison. Wendy just has to worry about so much more for little gain.

This will never end. Regardless of the characters, whenever we have new skill trees there will be comparisons, and the old ones will be considered bad (even those that were considered very good at the time). If Klei started the rework process of all the existing skill trees today, in the end the people who created them would complain and ask for a new review. So skill trees will be an eternal rework if the devs don't put a limit on this mess called the forum. We're already in the third year of the first one (Wilson). I foresee DST's 20th anniversary and Klei stuck in the skill tree process.

I don’t know… the newer character reworks get some really cool fancy toys and gadgets Winona for instance, has several neat things she can do now, of course.. her playstyle without them was extremely bland to begin with, but now she can teleport stuff, create neat vine bridges, use wormholes as her own personal teleportation hub, dismantle and pack up her catapults to carry them around its overall… massive improvements.

But then when you compare even the brand new crazy a** stuff in the WX78 beta… characters like for example “Woodie” start to fall off short.

Weregoose should be able to dip its head down into water and fish out a snack to keep Woodies hunger meter up while flapping over the highly empty seas..

I personally really wanted to see Klei add the ability to have Abigail “Haunt” Wendy herself, and this could lead to a variety of different things, such as for example: Above normal strength for a few moments which can be used to chop trees with more strength (faster or less tool durability exhausted) And the major one, I wanted to be able to haunt Wendy so she can float for 5-6 seconds over gaps of land.

But honestly? I’m so sick of character reworks and rereworks and skill trees, dude at this point DST focus more on character Buffs & Nerfs more than Smite and OverWatch do.

And that’s HEARTBREAKING because DST is NOT an MMO or a PvP Shooter, it was a survival Roguelike, and it should have focused on new mobs, weather seasons, biomes to explore, Survival Mechanics etc…

And what’s even worse, when they DO add a new survival Mechanic such as the original implementation of Wonkeys Curse which retained even through character death, it gets absolutely nerfed into pure Oblivion to the point it becomes ignorable.

Nobody here gets it. Nobody sees the truth. You see the pattern, but not its cause. 

But I know. 

Every time there's a rework or skill tree or character-focused update, there's hype around a character. Every time Klei does one of these, they release new skins. Skins for the character being reworked. People who get interested in the newly updated character buy the skins.

Klei makes money on skin sales. They probably make at least as much on skin sales as on the game itself, if not more.

Do you see now? Eternal reworks is eternal profit. 

I don't blame Klei for this, nor am I complaining, because I like when characters get new stuff and I want the game to continue to survive.

A character that got advantage on brainless small mobs farming keep complaining just because of some minor disadvantage.

Get annoyed by Wendy mains so much due to the Non-stop complaining since the beta come out. At this point, I wish Klei can just give Wendy the ability to one shot bosses and teleport so Wendy main can stop complaining.

I don't know why people keep insisting playing single character when they just don't like their design. Just move on .

The only 1 skill tree is really poorly design in my mind is Wilson.

Wolfgang and Wigfrid skill tree is boring but that just how those two gameplay always feel like.

Wendy skill tree aren't really well designed, but much better then those 3 above. PPL keep complaining is just because Wendy is the most popular character in game which require the least skill to survive. They are so bad in combat due to most of their player base get spoiled by Abigail, causing a slightly disadvantage lead to enrage.

Look, this is the forum. They will never admit how bad Wendy's skill tree is even after 1 year, they will only be blinded by the superficially fancy toys and Wendy's overwhelming advantage that is only useful for novice players. So Klei probably won't change her either, because they are the Brahmins DST players who have the power to shape the future of the game.

And could the skilltree of any character be so self-contradictory? Completely unrelated skills and the originally clearly-defined different function to conflict with each other?

She won a speedrun challenge before her skill tree. Imagine what Team Spirit could do for a player with serious skill.

But keep complaining about how weak Wendy is, I guess.

while i dont think wendy skill tree is a absolute master piece, i also think is far from being a super bad tree

plus the timing just isnt right for a skill tree rework consider technically speaking, her tree is the last one came out ( despite that is already a year old, hurry up klei please ! )

not to mention, if klei dare to make a rework of her tree, the tormented souls of willson,wigfrid and (possibly)woodie,wormwood will come out and drag you back down

She is a combat character, specificly a dps combat character, competing in a combat speed run challenge, where the only higher dps combat character is banned (wolfgang), ofcourse she would win vs most other in combat term.

Do you see she win in farming tournament? or chop tree tournament?

And we are here to complain about how bad her skill tree is, not how weak she is, noone here even say wendy is weak, or strong.

There a poll i asked earlier, and let say more than half of wendy players rarely use potion in their game, other a third use them regularly. For a mechanic only a third of players use, having half of skill tree enchance it is way too much.

There are two parts to Wendy's character: Abigail, and her potions. You dislike both of them. Why are you playing Wendy?

My idea is to give her the ability to craft a voodoo doll and use it to target bosses. Each needle stab has a 1% chance to instantly kill the boss and a 99% chance to kill one of your teammates, if no teammates exist, kill your character instead. Hell yeah~

Just kidding her kit are boring af. Just don't use her, try other characters.

There are 2 part to Wendy's character, Abigail and Wendy. Potions is part of abigail.
I dont dislike abi, i just dislike potion and the quest to gather mourning glory. You spend like half a day gather mats and craft potion when you can just kill boss without potions and cost extra 10~20 secs.

I would love to see FW/BQ fight with and without potion, to see if potion is really that unnecessary.

No, the only thing Wendy has ever done is summon Abigail and make potions. Before her refresh all she did was summon Abigail. To say that Wendy's skill tree is bad because it focuses on potions and Abigail is like saying Walter's skill tree is bad because it focuses on his slingshot and Woby. What should Wendy's skill tree be about if not about her? Should the tree have been focused on cooking?

More could be done about Wendy and Abigail.
Wendy could gain move speed toward Abigail, vice versa.
Her flower could be back with different function.
Swap place with abi (small teleport)

Abi could emit proper light or sanity for Wendy.

Ah yes, asking for teleport, even it is non relate to her character design.
Don't forgot to make abigail able to destroy the tree on the path while dashing so she won't be so useless.
Oh also make abigail able to make chef special cause abigail dream to be chef
