I wish for some new game mechanics.

Currently the game is pretty simple, we have mats(gas, liquid, solid), power, rads, heat, lights, decors, radiation and germs.
Every structure, plant, critters, dupes action, serves to convert some of the above into any of the above.

There you will notice except for space out, which introduced radiation and rads. We haven't have any new mechanics.  Arguably Prehistoric has a new way to use germ but the mechanics is not expanded regrettably.

I proposed:
Expansion of the Rad mechanics, so we can have different quantum particles to play with e.g. gravitrons, positroms, neutrinos They are transported using rad systems but have other properties.
More ways to use germs, eg feeding to some new critters/plants, or any other conversions.
Maybe some mechanics to covert decor into something else.
Extremophiles, not sure, maybe critters that swim in lava, plants that grow in LO2 etc.

Maybe use Germs to more advance Plant mutations, more kind of food, advance critter mutations.

That would work, also, In real life, Germs/Microbs  convert iron to iron ore, carbon to methane etc. We could very definitely have use that in game.

While we are at it, it was really when are we going to get insulated conveyor belt and smart storage that have high/low threshold like liquid and gas counterparts?  :cower:

I, too, am ready for new mechanics.  I'm not holding my breath (because oxygen isn't included), but I'm still hoping for fire/combustion.

@Simonova There is one option now.

That's could be something , a devices that enhance dupes abilities , make them extremely fast, can expands his pick up / digging range , same for food, use some chemistry to make food last longer or new kinds of food.

Germs could be bad for dupes, but good for certain critters. New critters that require zombie spores to keep them docile so they don't attack. Food poisoning on hatch food to provide probiotics and improve conversion rates.

No news or they wanted to upgrade the unity version? i hope this new DLC brings with new mechanics, also anyone has extract some assets from the game and maybe there is a pic or a preview there ...

"We took a break from paid DLCs to fix bugs! Hopefully, this helps everyone's colonies chug along more smoothly - surviving in space is challenging enough already."

Given that, I’m wondering if what showed up on SteamDB was just tied to this update rather than a new DLC being close.

It seems they probably aren’t that far along on the next content release, but I have a feeling it’s going to be good when it eventually comes, especially with all the focus on bug fixing underlying systems.

I'm not sure how to check SteamDB, but is there still a mystery entry or does it appear like it was just this latest update?

Has anyone seen anything else that suggests a new DLC is actively in progress, or was the SteamDB entry likely just related to this update?

Seems there is no update to that deploy / branch from 3 months ago, or maybe they only started a DLC and they have to upgrade the unity version so they can continue working, i think that they have all the mechanics on the core game and DLC just are assets and can enable those functions, like the meteor event in the prehistorik DLC.

I wouldn't look too much into what has/hasn't changed for trying to gauge development efforts. It was always pretty trivial to hide updates for internal depots for unauthorized users and perhaps Klei doesn't appreciate our 👀👀👀👀 anymore :P

It's only silence if you have your earplugs in.

If you had them out, you'd have heard the bugfix at the end of march and changes to long-standing mechanics. That's not even three weeks of silence, let alone three months.

Come on mate. Let'em cook.

As said above, major bugfixes came our way recently. You can hardly do that if you are bound to always produce new content at the same rate with the same resources (and trust me. I know. I'm in a software dev team facing similar issues. Woe is me).
