Your eyes are very sensitive. I don't recommend using computers or cell phones. Remove these things from your life.

I'm sorry, but I don't see any reason to give you special treatment. I'll continue posting images or videos with this filter (it's a native feature of the game). But you can ignore my posts and be happy:

why kill dfly for scaled turf if you can go to caves and dig up the turf in a biome with no threats in that case

We have two turfs that provide the special speed effect. We don't need just one type of turf to perform a single function in the game. Furthermore, Klei can use scales as an ingredient to create the new floor, and this problem is solved.

Bad bad reasoning. The cult of the lamb turf is just a skin.

Actually cool-ass idea

I agree it makes sense.

I just thought it was funny at first, but it's actually a based suggestion. Randomly ignite stuff sitting on it and increase fire spread. Works as a heat source for winter, but with a drawback.

Would probably have to consider how the player is intended to navigate the biome, though. Does the player randomly combust, or do they just have to keep their temperature under control?

It would end up being a turf where the player can’t place structures down that aren’t fireproof. But Klei already did turf you can’t place structures on in the Hamlet DLC so it wouldn’t be anything new… still would be cool if it started Wildfires though, I’d make my own volcano island with burned away trees and crap like that on it. If I can ever figure out how to capture or reproduce saladmanders I’d put those guys on the island too just cause of how they change colors and behaviors when hot.

what function would this serve exactly? If the biome is made largely out of stone and the new type of root/tree would this not just endanger the trees in question? I guess I can see it being a case of if the player dies, any flammable materials would be lost.

Perhaps there is a way to convey this danger to the player in a organic fashion like the entrance to the biome having slightly withered plants like lightbulbs and ferns that are dried up, or inside the biome could be some charred plants similar to the dragonfly's spawning area.

It could have some unique ambience where you can hear some of the thrumming geo-thermal activity either directly from the vents or just by walking around.

But also, it would make very little sense for the fumarole's turf to prevent fire, when conceptually the flame resistant turf from the dragonfly's scales probably have some sort of magical component or inherent fire resistant properties that help quell fire. The fumarole's turf seems to have cracks in it similar to the krissures from the shipwrecked magma biome, if anything it would make more sense for it be a fire hazard rather then a suppressant.

A Krissure before erupting.A Krissure erupting.

would be cool to see something similar in the biome, but since it's a fumarole it's more likely to be a lot of hot gas/steam/miasma rather then molten rock or fire. Although a super heated or molten dreadstone monster of some kind does seem cool... nightmare magma/lava with shadows wriggling with rage with it.

we have scaled turf, we have above-average trees, we have an actual world-toggle all for turning off wildfires. making this caves-based fire-exhaust biome turf be another anti-fire measure seems both redundant and kind of silly. why are none of the current options viable for you?

That's why I asked for your opinion, and the answer is that you're satisfied with turfs for decorative purposes only. There's no problem with that, by the way.

There's not such a thing in Hamlet, may I ask what you're referring to?

The dense jungle turf I think it’s called has little flowers growing up all over the biome, you can’t dig them up and they appear to be purely cosmetic, but trying to build anything on top of this turf won’t allow placement.

It's nothing to do with the turf, the decorative jungle ferns simply block placement just like anything else. You're fully able to build in the deep rainforest, especially in spots where the decor is more sparse.

[Do they know?]

Unfortunately, that's not what Scaled flooring does.

It was changed relatively recently, now that's what it does. Previously it increased time till stuff starts smoldering, now it prevents smoldering.

That's not true. I wish it were, though. I just loaded into a game and was greeted with this.

All that change did was stop this from spreading to other things, stuff very much can and will randomly catch fire and burn though.

I liked this answer and will also use it for other requests.

"For example, we have three characters who teleport. It would be meaningless to have another character with the same function. Why are none of the current options viable for you?"
