There are endless threads being created because of the new version of Lunar Hail and the lack of survival elements.
A pattern I've observed with all possessed mobs is that they are aggressive toward everything living in the game. Possessed birds, however, deviate from this pattern. To provide the element of danger that some players desire, I suggest that possessed birds attack players with significant damage (forcing the player to capture or exterminate them).

See this is why I want lunar hail to build up on players (and creatures) as well.

It would make sense if bright-beaked birds attacked creatures with lunar hail build-up and it would make them a far more dynamic threat than simply making them hostile at base.

I think it'd be simpler if they attacked players with Moon Shards in their inventory, kinda like Slurtles.

Looks like the beta ends tomorrow. So there's no risk of that happening. Lol!

What Beta? Roflmao…. The next DST update that releases in the official live branch won’t be until September, the Devs even said so much when we asked about the Non-Existent 2025 content Roadmap.

There was going to be Two content updates to conclude From Beyond story Arch, one of those updates has already come (the annoying celestial scion boss stuff) and everything that is currently in Beta, Won’t come out (at least for console versions of the game) until that September Update.

So technically… the beta can keep going till the end of September.

That said: Normally peaceful mobs in the Hamlet DLC go Hostile towards the player at a certain stage of the game (how many days you manage to stay alive) and I think that since DST forces the player to beat at least 4 large bosses and do some rather lengthy fetch and collect missions before they can even activate Lunar Hail: I think it’s 125% fair to expect the mobs to turn hostile!

In fact, caged animals that turn hostile should be coded to attempt to break out of or escape their pens, I mean just look at mutated crow, dude legit looks like he now has a glass saw for his beak.

Tomorrow there should be a drop (I don't remember having drops with an active beta)...

the files indicate that birds will in fact be able to attack.

Oh thank goodness, this is something I was hoping for.

Did some digging and I DID manage to find that they'll do 20 damage, and will do dive bomb/sweeping attacks.
