hiii, generally, even tho i have lik 400 hrs in dst and 500 in the solo version, im still pretty bad. ive tried to kill bee queen, klaus and ancient guardian today and yesterday but i kept dying and rolling back... id like if someone could give me some pro tips or join my world to offer a hand, i can provide you food, armor etc. an issue is that im a wendy main so when i unsummon abby for the klaus fight,i deal 0.75x of the normal dmg. i usually use tentacle spikes or dark swords if im generous. ive been a player since 2014 so its quite embarrassing to be this bad at the game 💔

edit : i usually make 20 pierogi plus a few meat jerky, i try to kite but im clearly suffering from a big ahh skill issue

another edit cuz i forgor. i defeated dragon fly, ancient guardian and klaus in the past and i genuinely dont remember how i did that. but that was a few years back before the ancient guardian rework (i think he had one), before CC was even added

Definitely don't tame a beefalo as Wendy like lardee suggests. (His guide is severely outdated now)

Its hard enough to learn to fight bosses as her as is without depending on another tedious clutch mechanic like beefalo taming.

I recommend using insight points to unlock gestalt abigail and extra yield skill. This boosts the survivability of abigail during boss fights and prevents abigail killing the deer during the klaus fight.

The team spirit skills are bad dont use them. Micromanaging abigail during boss fights is definitely not worth the mental gymnastics compared to just using gestalt abigail and forgetting she is there.

You can revive abigail quickly if she dies by first using spectral cure all potion followed by ghastly potion then resummon, this is made easier by the increased potion production skills (extra yield), pipspook quest 3 and blessed sisturn 3.

Gestalt abigail can still kill hordes of spiders if you use distilled vengeance potion on her so dont worry about losing the AOE.

Edit: liberal use of panflutes on bosses can give you the 10secs you need to heal, ghastly potion and resummon gestalt abigail if she dies. You will notice a massive damage increase when using gestalt abigail with the nightshade potion. Bee queen is the only boss I wouldn't use gestalt abigail for, maybe ancient fuelweaver as well... otherwise gestalt abigail is the best for every other boss.

Isn't that locked behind defeating celestial champion? If so, I don't think that's an option for OP.

Disappoints me people automatically think being a PC user = people cheating insight and the like Day 1, when the vast, vast majority of people don’t/wouldn’t play like this.

First, it’s important to consider what is killing you. Are you running out of healing/weapons/armor/other supplies? Are you struggling to kite the enemy in question? Are you messing up a particular phase of the boss?

My general recommendation is to always overprep against a particular boss you have never beaten/beaten reliably, especially in the armor/healing departments. Having excessive prep is much more preferable to having insufficient prep, and any excess armor/healing and the like you have left over can simply be brought over to other bosses in the future. I personally did it a lot when fighting Raid bosses initially when I wasn’t good at it, and I still prefer to do so so I don’t end up in scenarios where I run out of armor/healing and need to leave the boss due to mishaps in taking too much damage or having additional circumstances impede the boss.

As for one other thing, 0.75X damage is not 0.00X damage. Wendy can still dish out a pretty good amount of damage with proper weapons (ham bat/dark swords come to mind), even if it will take a bit longer than other characters. Just remember to have additional defensive prep due to the fights taking a bit longer than normal and you should be alright.

Some boss fights take longer than the 8 minute day cycle or take place entirely underground. Having light through the fight can be massively helpful. A star caller staff is a great way to light up the area and makes a huge difference. If you aren't already using a star caller, give it a try and see if it helps.

update. i went to the ruins again with a beefalo. i got past the annoying bishops and rooks. took a second to warm myself since i was freezing and my beefalo slept. he woke up with a red butt deciding he wants me dead lol. i unsummoned abigail to avoid fighting and went forward. ( i shouldve probably left the underground and go back in which resets the red butt), i found the fixed ancient machine. and the nightmare cycle begun. so what couldve gone wrong, has. i died to shadows LOL. gotta rollback ig

nope. thats possible? i dont have the shadow nor lunar affinity yet lol

Wellllllllllll that sucks for you. I would prioritise doing the lunar questline. Normal abigail is really useful every step of the way for this quest. The non-affinity skills I suggested are still the best for abigail

  • Focus on getting a star caller staff in ruins and avoid nightmare phase/ancient guardian. Making a stockpile of cure all/ghastly potion is a good idea.
  • Do moon caller event, bring some thulecite walls from the ruins build a square tier one walls around the moon stone lock yourself inside the walls and make abigail aggressive, spam panflute if needed. Easy moon caller staff, deconstruct it with green staff, win win.

Abigail helps alot if surviving boat trips for pearls quest and during the crab king fight. It's only really celestial champion you need to fight solo-esh. Once you have gestalt abigail everything becomes alot easier when refighting bosses.

But yes definitely do the lunar quest ASAP for lunar affinity.

alright, ive never even got close to fighting CC. i know its a lot of work to just summon it but the fight isnt that hard. the attacks are dodgeable but deal lots of dmg, is that true? ill try tm best to start the process for gestalt abby

Just chiming in to say that ornery beefalo is a fantastic option for Wendy because it gets buffed by Abigail and also doesn’t suffer from Wendy’s dmg modifier. Probably one of the best beefalo synergies out of all the characters and well worth the investment. I have never understood the label of “crutch” toward beefalo like it’s somehow cheating your way out of managing a character downside.

If you’re treating the run as a way to learn boss fights on foot then go for it! Just didn’t want the beefalo option to be rejected out of hand.

Also, congrats on the Dfly kill.

Once a beefalo is fully tamed it won't go into heat anymore. Non-fully tamed beefalo will go into heat for all of spring and at random intervals throughout the rest of the year.

You can still tame an in-heat beefalo in the spring by feeding it, but riding it is petty difficult since it will buck you off frequently. If you wear a beefalo hat they won't be aggressive towards you

Try the "automatic health adjust mod" to reduce the health of bosses. The HP system is made for multiplayer gameplay so if you're struggling to fight boss by yourself just lower the health system. It's not recomanded by a lot of "hardcore" player but the point of a game is to have fun so have fun !
