Honestly it's better they don't update at all than making bad updates, or just stop at return of them

No one here would claim everything Klei does is perfect. Sure there's changes a lot of people are not a fan of. Sure sometimes it takes a while until they fix up some stuff.
The game has a huge amount of aspects, and a wide variety of players. They add content, they see the feedback, they go back and change things and this cycle goes on and on throughout years and that's how the game gets shaped. It's a constant flow and it's this flow that makes a game stay alive. They also cannot be always just stuck in one place, looping in 1 cycle, trying to keep everyone happy, because that is also never going to happen. So they also try to go forward and add new content, as well as slowly going back and fixing the prior issues.
The reality is that the majority of people would not play if the game did not get any new updates at all, compared to when there's a few disliked additions in between a lot of good additions. And I also have to say, when the feedback is just negative overall, I haven't seen it work. Which I've to admit is how I see comments of this sort as.

And as for things like brightshades, great depth worm, rabbit king, ... they also give this freedom and implement options in the settings so that people can make the game what they'd like, with whatever playstyle they'd like. Currently as far as I know, only rabbit king between these doesn't have an option, but you are more than welcome to give a feedback about that.

My point here: Without insulting anyone is that you absolutely can not be a fan of the new direction of DST and also at the same time call yourself a “True Fan” of what came prior, because DST is literally an entire Genre Flip from DS+its DLCs.

Some people want that Resident Evil Miracle where the devs finally realize that generic action shooter isn’t what fans of the franchise truly wanted.. it may had been “what was popular” but it didn’t feel like “Resident Evil”

Personally, I don't really see a "dev worship" issue on this forum. I have seen some feedback that is very much the opposite of worship. Treating people with respect and decency is not the same as worship. Neither is expressing gratitude. 

Also, some people may just have different tastes compared to you, so if someone disagrees with you, it doesn't mean they are worshipping the devs. They might just disagree with you.

Being able to make a lite version of the old menu with the quick craft tabs was really helpful for getting used to the new menu. New one is miles better than the old one still, but I can't deny I still get lost in it sometimes.

Another good example is the Resurrected skins thread I mentioned earlier.

I would like to add that referencing past threads in this way isn't any problem under the Community Guidelines. If it were a problem, you should thread causing the problem be deleted.

I didn't read the whole thing but it seems like some users happen to be on Kleis side because they just don't agree with the opposing side, I wouldn't call that worshiping

And some users have hurled vile insults for the sake of the devs, while in other cases, people who were calmly expressing their opinions were subjected to abuse simply for being “Wendy Players” or “Forum outsiders.”, making excuses for the devs using blatant lies. There were even instances where the insults extended to their affiliations or nationalities. If necessary, I can provide citations or even bring in witnesses.

If this doesn’t qualify as developer worship, then I don’t know what does.

No need, I do believe you that those people exist, but I'd rather ignore them because there's no point in arguing with those type of people no matter what side they're on. I just didn't really see those on threads that you referred to

Please note that some of the parts I mentioned have been deleted,  and some others have not resulted in any punishment and the users involved are still allowed to remain on the forum.

I don’t like the term “true fan” because I’m sure that even when it was just deerclops as THE boss some one loved fighting her more than anything.
saying “true fan” is such an elitist way to view stuff. 
 

but I do completely understand you and I do agree with what you say about the genreflip because it is completely different but I feel that you can be a fan of the new content and want more survival aspects like I would love rifts to do more than just spew out a mediocre enemy like the brightshades have them do more have brightshades happen less because if they were once per rift they would be so much more enjoyable as a survival hazards and not just the chore they become. Rifts could be great for the survival aspect of dst but in their current form sadly they aren’t. However I do feel that the lunar mutation bosses are really good survival additions as it spices up the already existing hazards of the seasonal bosses.

I'm reasonably certain that aubaro's been banned. You can't know who's received warnings, and the only indication of a ban is that posts have stopped.

Good riddance. That immature man was the one who started the Chinese hate in the first place, and it turned into a huge sensation on Baidu and Bilibili, which caused Chinese players crush into here. I definitely assert it because, at the time, I was in directly messaging with the Chinese players who came here to asking them to properly report Arubaro so he would be banned, and also asking them not to attack Klei, Jason and JoeW. He absolutely deserved to be banned.

But you must know that there were some people going the same way together with Arubaro, and you must also know that they haven’t been banned. It can be seen even through the blacked-out parts.

I love all the QoL updates, beefalo changes are awesome! I still hate boats in DST but they are a bit better. It seems like the climate has changed and people want more early game content and I would have to agree as well. I would love more range weapon rewards for new items that only can be obtain in new locations and just more exploration with diverse creatures would be super cool.

I would ask that mobility with sails on the boats is adjusted so it is not so uncontrollable and weird, specially with faster sails. Anyways. We can agree to disagree.

Suggestion to you @drbest

If you don't like anything in the world that's going on, there's the 'classic' Don't Starve option when creating your world in custom selection.

It won't bring old crafting tab, but there's always a mod for those things. Or, you know, go play singleplayer and grab DLC's since there's tons of content there and no more updates.

If you're there to play with friends, well, then you might just have to make due with what this game offers.

Well yes and no? It's still most of the singleplayer content, but you got a more narrow goal of killing fuelweaver to 'win' in your world.

Toadstool for lights too is nice. Ancient Guardian for defenses.

I think bigger issue more when wanting classic DS experience in a different game all together is that you technically can just have that, I played plenty of it without killing bosses then I focused on raiding them all when I felt like I'm done with else and need to actually progress. You can just avoid everything else and retain old classic DS and do ocean stuff or a little ruin exploration and then be done. Don't have to open rifts either if you want just ruin loot.

Game offers a ton of options, I think the main topic people bring up that they come from the past experience into a whole new visual and technical changes to general gameplay and then get upset because 'things are too new and too weird and scary now.' Generally how it goes.
