Every 20 days, the player would have to face 2 bosses to get 6 repairs. The cost of each battle is extremely high. It starts with 7 Phasmo-Encapsulaors (14 thulecites + 14 scraps + 7 salts + 7 nitres + 14 rocks) for only 1 duel. There are still other fighting costs, such as weapon and armor repair kits, specific foods, etc.

All this to cut wood?

Bearger is the best collector, and it only costs to wait for a season of the year. Deerclops also complements this function and another season.

Soon after, we have the Reanimated Skeleton Forest. The cost is to defeat AFW to get Shadow Thurible and then only spend nightmare fuel.

Finally, we still have Weather Pain that is probably cheaper and still cuts faster than Friendly Terramite.

plenty of people ive talked to enjoys it for mass farming grass, twigs and the likes once every now and then, so they love it regardless of the cost (its not even expensive really)

its primary use is chopping but it also allows for some fun uses outside of trees, since by the point of killing warbot you wouldnt need much outside of bearger

it should just have infinite durability tbh, or dramatically increased so they can last a full toadstool fight

It used to be... okay-ish, sort of, to a degree, cause at first toadstool could just stun them for a while before they got back up, but now they take durability damage entirely so I don't bother with bring them to toad.

Was that before klei removed the ability to get the terramites to follow the player?

Also, it most definitely is expensive. This is quite literally the last boss of the lunar quest line. Getting through all of cc, rift bosses, and the transformation of Pearl's island... for a tiny mobile chainsaw. Like Cruv said, we go through bearger twice for this thing, and bearger is pretty much the ultimate wood chopper already and that's without even needing to start the lunar quest line at all.

And even if you ignore all of that, and let's say hypothetically Warbot and Scion required 0 quests to fight. It would still be extremely expensive. Warbot and Scion are very difficult for half of the reward to be a better axe.

I purposely defeated Scion first so I can get the terramites for Toadstool just to make my life easier to deal with the trees, but I was mistaken. 🫩

can’t you just use mimics to copy the encapsulaors?

Does this work 😳

is kinda funny how the extra jwels you get are meaningless after the first kill

The encapsulator is a tool. I keep one by the grotto for mimics to copy so I can grab large gestalts. It won't copy used ones, but the unused ones are free.

Grass or twigs are much better mid-game solutions.

One of the simplest (and extremely effective) is from this video:

How is defeating W.A.R.B.O.T. + Scion more advantageous than this?

In no scenario would I consider using terramites for grass or twigs.

The problem is it pales in comparison to even pre rift options. Even if you need massive amounts, Wicker with a quad lureplant setup can amass ~50-60 stacks every 3 days, and its free to renew the cycle over and over, much less universal options like grass geckoes and gators who provide continuous sources of grass/twigs, which work well into the endgame (especially if you place a few winbots down as Winona to avoid having performance issues from the sheer amount of grass/twigs you get). Compare this to needing to fight the Actual endgame lunar boss, and then have enough to repair 6 terramites for 20 minutes before needing to go and refight the boss again.

It just feels very impractical to do this when existing options are comparable-slightly less efficient to the headache of challenging scion constantly in order to harvest basic resources you will always need more of.

i hope they make it so instead of being an entity that moves around, you could use them to set the limits for the electric barrier they do in the warbot fight
like you could in beta, but legit:

This plus making them easier to repair would revolutionize the use of catapults or houndious shootious in the lategame
