Isn't about time we got a new Don't starve solo game?

Recommended Posts

Maybe I'm just greedy but I want a new Don't solo dlc, I love Shipwrecked and Hamlet so I'd love something new. I personally can't think of anything but I know klei would definitely have ideas, maybe a fairytale styled version I'm not sure but I'd definitely enjoy it.

Currently, we can play Hamlet, Shipwrecked and Adventure Mode together through mods, so in my mind, DS Solo is basically a discontinued game.

It isn't discontinued, it's complete. They aren't touching it since DSA is already complete and their intended vision for Don't Starve solo.

Not an official, but I’m part of a small fandom of guys who are interested in the development of a space themed Don’t starve fan game still in development.

Its called “Don’t Starve: Nomad”

The lore behind this is supposedly Wilson somehow built a rocket ship and crash landed on a mysterious planet through he is still in the constant.

In my mind, it is. I don't really care if Klei removed DS Solo from the stores or not, but a new game that wasn't even planned was made (Together) using the "completed game" as a base and the solo became basically a dead game in which the number of players in the franchise is 4% compared to DS Together, according to Steam Charts.

it's not worth the headache that is DS's coding. Sure a new DLC sounds cool, but keeping it real, the game is too old for new content, the coding is outdated. And the team does not have enough hands on deck to do DS anymore without the proper funding from the game itself. Which is very little. DST is live-service so the money is always coming in, properly funding the game's lifespan and an evergrowing community unlike DS. It would require a high amount of effort for such little income. There's been a lot of cases in the past with previous DLC's where an update has just ruined a lot of what the game handles, it wasn't until the giant DS patch we got not too long ago that it isn't the buggy mess it used to be after hamlet/SW.

This guy just discovering the concept of a sequel and that a single player game from over 10 years ago will have less players than a multiplayer game still receiving constant updates. A game isn't dead just cause it's complete.

The only thing I truly want is a Hamlet Mobile App.

DS & SW are already on Mobile, with DST already having been announced to be going mobile too at some point In the future. The only thing missing is Hamlet.

I would also love it if Klei would go work on the mobile version of shipwrecked and add the RoG characters to it (Wigfrid & Webber)

Yes folks, believe it or not there was once upon a long time ago a DLC that added Wigfrid and Webber to DS, they weren’t just core gameplay content. & unfortunately for the mobile versions of the game: Wigfrid and Webber still can not be used in Shipwrecked

I hope they will make this changes for you and other mobile players!!!

(I recommended one of my workmates the game and she only has a tablet, so I hope she, IF she will ever want to play, can get a less limited experience)

I'd like to say a few words about this...

So, the original game is complete, 100% finished.

No more content is needed, BUT...

There are still some bugs which need to get fixed and i think these are the only types of updates the game seriously needs.

I always wished a space dlc back before RoG but that wont happend

I think, if they hire 3d artist, they could trach other companies how to make a proper 3rd person survival action game if they do It with the balance and freedom of prerift dst

I mean... That's not the only definition of discontinued.

Like, in mangas, discontinued just means the story was stopped midway and was never finished. It just means what the word says. It is no longer being continued.

It doesn't really apply to DS, since it's a complete single player game, but the term can be used in contexts other than "no longer available".

Like... Isn't Heroes of the Storm discontinued? The game is still there available, but it's been left there with no updates for who knows how many years. The word applies there.

We can also use it to franchises as a whole if they haven't received a new entries in many many years, even if the franchise is still available for purchase.

So uhn... Yeah, discontinued has more meanings than just "removed from storefronts".

Yeah, but putting this at the end of the response implies that DS got discontinued, which is not true in any way.
