Isn't about time we got a new Don't starve solo game?

Can't wait for Don't Starve competitive first-person hero shooter MOBA with fomo, battlepass and gatcha system to hit the market, it would be great.

I've been playing a new game for a few weeks, doing its battlepass and all, only to learn that the game itself has not received any update since its launch and the community is dead. But the battle passes are there.

There will never be another DLC for Solo Don’t Starve, that ship has sailed and it would be unwise of Klei to ever go back.

However… if Klei was to release a new next Gen version of a Dont Starve Game…. Something that blends DS+DST+SW+Hamlet and all of that content was accessible in any other part of the game- (Aka playing as DSTs Wurt in Adventure mode solo DS, or Walani from SW in DST) a “Mega Game” if you want to call it that, kinda like how THPS 1+2 or 3+4 are a collection of all the modes, levels and content from multiple games-

I could realistically see a new DLC (or two) added to this version of the game, that could be played in Solo Mode or DST.

Kinda like how Rockstar re-released GTA V from Xbox 360, to Xbox One, and then Xbox Series X/S but each version of the game didn’t just improve the graphics, it added new features and content that wasn’t possible in the previous versions.

Now rather or not Klei WANTS to do this is entirely up to them.. but as for myself personally, I remember how when (Left Four Dead) L4D2 made L4D 1 Obsolete when they added all the maps modes and characters of L4D 1 over into L4D 2 as DLC.

I mean... That's not the only definition of discontinued.

Like, in mangas, discontinued just means the story was stopped midway and was never finished. It just means what the word says. It is no longer being continued.

It doesn't really apply to DS, since it's a complete single player game, but the term can be used in contexts other than "no longer available".

Like... Isn't Heroes of the Storm discontinued? The game is still there available, but it's been left there with no updates for who knows how many years. The word applies there.

We can also use it to franchises as a whole if they haven't received a new entries in many many years, even if the franchise is still available for purchase.

So uhn... Yeah, discontinued has more meanings than just "removed from storefronts".

Like how the Lord of the Rings got discontinued after the story ended, right I get it now

Complete and discontinued are different words with different meanings. This is explained on the very post you're quoting.
