As of now, we have about 8 'proof of purchase' skins: 4 from the Funko Pops figures and 4 from the Youtooz figures. However, the fact that those items are either out of sales or can't even be shipped to some countries is very much disappointing.

I for example, want the Youtooz Wilson figure (even if it's kinda sad that his hooked nose isn't made prominent as Maxwell's and I've heard from other owners that the figure's head is so heavy that most of the time it's gotta be supported from behind just to prevent it falling) but hey, guess what? Youtooz doesn't even ship to my country, Malaysia. So why even this thing happen?

What's the use of giving limited-edition skins when players from other places of the world can't even buy the supposed figures?

hi, both of my pop skins came from plushies and there are two hat skins that come from buying their irl hat equivalent. there are a lot more than 8 skins, there were more than 8 skins when i started playing 5 years ago X''D

edit;

ok so i checked the store and there are a lot more than 8, sadly neither the mandrake or the crabbit plush still seem to be for sale which sucks since they were super adorable

I really want the witch hat from the willow figure, but I don't want to buy it from the steam market for 50€, I would rather have paid that much for the figure. I wish they would resell it or maybe sell the skin alone again....

It might be lazy, but what if they made skins that were the same thing but weavable and very clearly recolored versions. That way, people who don't have it could get it (or something near identical) while still letting the people who supported Klei in that way have an in-game way to show that they did.

I don't think the All-Chemical Engine is 'beautiful' to be honest. I legit thought it was a lantern skin during the preview.

There do be flops, but they try to be true to the characters themselves. They're still flops. Willow's witch hat and Wendy's mourning hat are prolly highest prettiness value.

And that's quite a problem, don't you think. Why these 'flops' gotta exist on the supposed rare and limited-edition skins?

I wish I knew, but player feedback of what sorts of skins you want from Klei is the key point to giving feedback. Otherwise they'll toss in a flop or two if they don't feel particularly creative at that moment.

hmm, this does make for an oppertunity, reding this gave me the idea, wouldnt it be cool if the devs hold regularly community skin design contests and the winners skins get implemented?

I just caved and bought a Wilson Funko-Pop #401 off of Ebay like an hour ago because I refused to pay $100+ USD for the lantern skin in Steam Marketplace. I don't even really care too much for the figurine and only wanted the skin, feels bad. I closed my eyes when I clicked "Buy Now" ugh.

However on the other hand I can see how this would make the in-game skins feel less "rare" if they were just weavable. Imagine someone waited until like midnight for the Don't Starve Funko Pop Figures to release for their exclusive skin only for the skin to be Weaveable (essentially free) at a later time. BUT it's also not fair for those that can't even get it shipped to their country to begin with either... idk its a weird situation.

Honestly if you have a skin idea, draw it and post it on the forums or an art thread. If people and the devs like it, it very well could be implemented. I'm speaking from experience

I hate the idea of "flexing" skins, it sounds so much like children who don't like sharing toys, like why does it make you happy that someone can't have the same skin as you? I have some rare skins, I have the Wilson and Wendy funko pop skins as well as Maxwell and Wilson youtooz but I don't like them because they're rare, I like them because they're cool af! I hope Klei introduces a method so everyone can get them. I live in a third world country and these figurines are SO expensive for me, not only because of my currency but also shipping costs are extraordinary, so I missed out on a lot of other skins like the calico chest that i want it so badly. In my opinion, exclusiveness is a plague that's in almost every game, i hate it so much lol

I think creating their color variations would be the fairest solution. Maybe I'll choose a strange game for an example now, but in Brawl Stars this problem was well solved with color variations, the " oldies " will be happy with the exclusive and will be able to brag about it . and the new ones (or those who could not buy ) will be able to get a decent analogue and not be sad because of exclusivity and inaccessibility

I've never understood exclusivity of cosmetics in games. Like for instance (going back to WoW, amazing how original Evelo, yes yes I know) one of my favorite titles is "Field Medic" but that is no longer obtainable and that is a shame. It's such a cool title, I'm glad I got it before it became time exclusive but it sucks that newer players or people who missed out on it can never get it.

It may depend on Klei's future plans. There are pros and cons.

However, I can only say that if the Funko Pops skins, Youtooz skins, Klei Shop skins or any other exclusive skins that can be accessible through Klei Points, it could change things.

There might also be another Wendy Week or Wigfrid Helm Week. I can imagine how chaotic the forum would be.

bleh, the only 'changed' things would be the rarity of said skins. like remember those plenty telltale heart skins? they used to be timeless before brought to Klei rewards and be loyal-tier.
