Sending Woby to another player feels a bit clunky. Here are some suggestions on how to streamline it.

Needing both players to be holding a compass for Walter to have vision so he can send Woby to them feels cluncky and the other player already being under an Ocuvigil defeats some of the purpose of sending Woby to them because they will probably be inside or nearby base already,  which also means near chests so its easier to tell Woby to go drop items at chests. 

Here are some  suggestions on how to streamline sending Woby to another player:

Instead of both players needing to hold a compass, make it so Walter with this skill can see another player location on the map as long as said player is holding a compass in its hands.
Make it so Flare and Floating Speedy balloon show the icons of players  nearby their launch position.

I like both of those suggestions because they give more uses to items already present on the game or make them easier to use.

The last suggestion I have is an UI solution; instead of sending Woby to a player through their icon on the map, make it so Walter can send Woby to them through a Button on the tab menu that shows players and options related to them.

I think Moonlens should reveal the holder's location on the map like Celestial Orb. Compass mechanism is too inconvenient to use. This change would be super helpful to Wortox and Walter players.

What about adding something like "Moonstone Compass"? Like it shows your location to everyone else while equipped.

Mostly because people use mods to go around intended limitations, similar to not knowing your temperature.

I wonder if making it so that holding a compass starts transfering map reveal progress to anyone who is also holding a compass (like the global positions mod) would be a tad much

I think seeing the player icon on the map without revealing the map for compass, while flare can reveal the map like a temporary ocuvigil would be a fair balance.

I kind of think the novelty/utility of Woby Here, Woby There is kind of lost with the need for having an item in your inventory to be eligible to be sent items to. Why would friends or other players sacrifice an inventory slot just on the chance Walter wants to send you something. Idk I just feel like it doesn't really add anything, and makes it so you might as well always send Woby back to base instead.

If it is for balancing reasons, sure, I guess, but I think i'd prefer a hunger cost or something over forcing other people to hold something for you to be able to use your ability on them, which will make fun interactions like that likely never happen.

Both people using a compass isn't that clunky imo, the compass has no uses and the craft is extremely cheap, 1 compass can last you for thousands of days, and its not like "the other players" has to always carry one to make Woby mail work. When it comes to "sending Woby to another player" I think the main use for that will be sending Woby to another player while they are at a base, and in that case you can just leave a compass on the floor for when its necessary. Or if you want to coordinate with someone welp theres chat for it, just say "hey get a compass" and thats all, it ain't that different of "Maxwell mail". If anything I would say its better since its like a "portable" Maxwell Box.

Tho I agree that it would be good if other items did the "player reveal" too, like you said, flare, speedy balloon, etc. Perhaps the Cartographer's Table could have a function for this, since its craft already requires a compass.

I like this, just have the explanation of Woby sniffing them out. No need for Walter to know where they are.

Yeah, it's not like you can use the skill for anything malicious, you're sending Woby to give them access to your storage

I like most of the suggestions people came up with, be it a change on how the compass and some other items related to player position reveal work or an upgrade to those items or even sending Woby to sniff for the player when you dont know their position, any of those suggestions would make me happy if implemented. I think what I was trying to voice is that I feel a lack of Walter agency in his ability to send Woby to another players, which I felt a lot when playing in a server with random people, anything that would give Walter more agency when trying to send Woby to another player would be appreciated even if it had a cooldown or costed some Woby hunger.

This would be great, revealing players to send Woby to them is a shore right now, needing both players to hold a compass is awkward and the only other option that is not a meme  -needing the player to be under an ocuvigil is a meme in my opinion - is probably to use some position reveal mod, feelsbad.

I would not mind a buff for compass, but I would mind if the buff is not for base kit of every characters but only for Woby's privilege.
