When do you guys think the beta will be out in the normal version

Recommended Posts

My guess it around end of month from the way it's going. Wortox tree is still in a very meh state though I don't mind if they just release as is, as frustrating as it is. We don't talk about Wendy tree. Walter tree is perfect. There probably won't be major tweaks anymore, only a few numbers moving around at this point.

Wortox players have been fighting for our lives to be heard in the Beta since November lol. Unfortunately Wortox got put on the back burner seemingly because Wendy players had such a visceral reaction to her tree early on it even got to death threats and claims of racism. So since Walter Skilltree is absolutely peak, there's another round of Wendy Buff demands. All the while, Wortox isn't even mentioned in updates outside of a Bugnet Knabsack... It's disheartening to say the least.

Ive been waiting for this update for like a month :wilson_cry:

When it is done.

It's best to not rush things.

Feel free to go on the beta branch if you have an itch to play, the new changes are very playable there.

Honestly hard to say. This update has had an absolutely wild development cycle, between half the player base rioting about Wendy, Walter's skill tree getting a complete rework, and Wortox's skill tree getting completely shafted. As has been said, this isn't be the longest beta period we've seen sense they added sailing as a mechanic.

Wouldn't be surprised if Wortox got cut from the final release and pushed to the next update just so Klei could wrap it up already. If Wortox got the same treatmwnt as Wendy and Walter, we'd be waiting hear for another two months.

Do not call the handful of brigaders sent here by a content creator who made their forum accounts explicitly because the content creator told them to "half the playerbase".

The beta lore goes hard. I knew that there were a bunch of Wendy enthusiasts that joined with some sort of combined effort, but I didn't know it was because of a content creator

I thought it was odd seeing all the extreme posts coming from accounts exclusively made in November 2024... makes sense now.

Yeah I don't know who it is exactly that told them to do it but one of them said they were lead here by someone. It was like a video or something telling people to go yell at Klei on the Klei forums since they don't read the Chinese websites. I believe it, since I don't remember other updates having so many new accounts all unanimously saying the same thing before. Even without that guy saying that they were instructed to do this I would've thought that they were. I could see some people making forum accounts to list their opinions on upcoming updates, but on that massive scale and with all of them being either essentially or literally copy pastes with each-other there was no way it was natural.

Ah, from what I recall, it wasn't necessary one person telling others to come here to brigade, but more like... There were some people seriously angry about Wendy's skill tree in Chinese forums, and then one person told them like, "If you want your voice heard, you need to actually go to Klei forums to do so, otherwise you will be ignored." and then the person provided them instructions on how to create an account.

So... It wasn't so much of an artificial brigade led by a content creator, but more like a bunch of people who already hated Wendy's skill tree were given instructions on how to voice their hate... At least that's how I understood it.

... The actual brigade led by a creator came when Klei changed modding policies to stop people from making malicious mods, and in the process they broke some mods that people (or maybe it was just one person, I dunno) used to sell skins (breaking Steam Workshop policies), so the mod creator actively paid people to complain about the change that stopped them from making money while breaking workshop policies... Now that was a very weird sight.

Yes, there's a so-called "content creator" on bilibili named "Klei Entertainment." This "content creator" actually had the audacity to pin a post telling Chinese players that if they want to provide feedback on the game, they can visit the Klei forum, which supports Chinese. I came to the forum after seeing this pinned post. This "content creator" called "Klei Entertainment" is so blatantly organizing Chinese internet trolls to attack the Klei forum. Their intentions are truly despicable.

If you really want to attack or smear the Chinese player community, you should find a better approach. Stop using the word "brigader." I've seen this term so many times already—it's utterly boring and lacks any originality.

你真想要攻击或者抹黑中国玩家群体应该用更好的方式,别用”brigader“这个词了。我已经看到了很多次这个单词了,太无聊了,一点新意都没有。

It broke all the mods that sell skins, but only one creator did this, which shows how despicable they are
