Sacco
Hi, after years on the forums and over a thousands hours on dst i decided to leave the game. I can't stand anymore the direction the game is taking. I don't find it interesting anymore, because now most characters are just op killing machines with no downsides. The only character i still appreciate is warly, cause he has some interesting downsides but can be very powerful in the right situation, but i bet everything i have that with his skill tree some of his downsides will be tuned down and he will become even better. I don't understand why people straight up don't want to play the game and kill bosses in a couple of seconds in an ALONE world, where is the fun? I don't know honestly, but who am i to judge others? On these forums people did everything possible to insult me just because i didn't want to make abi op. I mean, they did it, they made abi op, but what did you win by insulting me on the forums? nothing, you are just a worse person over all... Anyway, it's better to leave this game and let it go the way it has to go. Bye! Evelo
Take care now. I'm waiting a little bit longer. Took me 16 years before I quit World of Warcraft (thank the stars, I needed out), how long will it take before I quit DST? Just now, Shining Galaxy said: Crying like you won't solve any problems. Now the direction of the game's update is that both enemies and survivors become stronger, and you can't always stay at DS to look at things, then cry out loud, argue, and declare that you're going to quit the game. Yes, you will quit, and then more players who like their characters will join. I just said what i think. I am not crying or anything else, i just said that i don't like the direction of the game, therefore i'm leaving it. 19 minutes ago, WANZUN said: English players will also complain about the skill tree version? Mike23Ua
I’m waiting to see the final results of the Wendy skill tree and also the 2025 (10yr anniversary) roadmap of DST before I decide if I’m fully quitting the game or not. JoeW has been teasing me for years about getting new world Gen options (archipelago world Gen setting please?!) but extremely good things, take long amounts of time to be developed.. so if they had plans to Redesign old outdated biomes, or give us new ways for worlds to generate, OR adding an actual hardcore game mode option with its own world changes, rules and behaviors it wasn’t going to come in a rush.. I have a feeling next years roadmap will be extremely EXTREMELY exciting.. & I just hope they deliver the type of stuff people have been holding out hope on for the longest. WANZUN
1 minute ago, Sacco said: 好吧,那为什么中国玩家要wendy做op? 这个也一样。 Because other characters have acquired excessive abilities, Wendy has a large number of players, and one of her features is op, like a character's plane damage trebuchet, killing grief toads for less than a minute? I've seen you for years. ADM
Personally I agree with your thoughts but wouldn't give up for these reasons. I live on the other side of the fence for now. There's time chatting on the forums is inspiring and convivial, other it's madness you get 0 pleasure from writing or reading even others' exchanges. Don't poison yourself with it do the same of your in-game experience, screw the skilltree if need be, and give your next session a direction you never had before, or one you'd like to come back to, try new mods too. It's all something you can achieve to refresh yourself, ignoring the current standings. Jakepeng99
My favourite update and feature of the year was the otters and the rabbit king. I really disagree with the direction the game is going too, and wish they would do more updates like the otters. (The ocean and caves are among the most needing of updates) ironically skilltrees are what I am looking forward to the most, since I really dislike riff content, and they rarely add anything new to the world other than riffs. The reason I dislike the riff updates is a lot of reasons. The easiest to explain is that the whole quest line and power creep the riffs offer kinda ruins dst for me. It just outclasses so much options and limits the game so much. Even if there are things I like from the riffs, like the lunar bosses and the ickers, it’s riff exclusive so… I also just skipped the hallowed nights update completely, as while the new riff drama guys looked cool, it’s just, why riffs? I liked the progression in hamlet. Everything is available from the start. You don’t need to defeat X to do Y to do A to do B to defeat the final boss to do H and then L. You can progress towards items in any order in a different way each time. The dst quest line is so slow, and repetitive. Its characters are cool but with enough downsides to have an interesting gameplay. Exploration in Hamlet is so cool, i never get bored of it. Bosses are probably the coolest one ever made in all of don't starve games. Weapons are cool, tools are cool. Everything in Hamlet has a charming look, it's perfect. I dislike rifts too because their idea to remove powercreep is kind of dumb due to the existence of skill trees which add planar abilities to characters... I bought the both games + DLCs (they were on sale tho) because I wanted to play Hamlet, and when I get burned out of DST, it is Hamlet that makes me go back. With that being said, once I saw that Wendy was on the skill tree beta, I just decided to not interact on the beta forums, not because any "disliking" of skill tress but because that gal player base is a wasp nest. So I just saved myself from some free stress. Good luck on your journey! I know it sounds silly but I always bring up the same thing if klei tomorrow added a clients side instant kill button to all versions of dst would it negatively impact the gameplay experience? I'd say probably while skill trees aren't a instant kill button the way they're going they're entirely shaping the gameplay experience and in a lot of ways it's in a negative way. Fun through just being overwhelmingly powerful is the main thing they introduced to the game and I'll be the first to say the key part is that it's fun but the game definitely feels a lot more shallow as a result.
