Dragonfly in it's current state is just a fun and easy try for a speedrun. Other than that you kill it once and there's no reason to do it ever again. Noncheese way to kill it is absolutely unforgiving with a long battle with guarentee annoyment. When you start or join a new world all you have to do is gather a stack of rocks to kill this boss once. Let me remind you that in DS ROG Dragonfly takes much more skill to kill and it is actually a problem. Idk there should be a rework for it.

ROG Dragonfly was the easiest boss in the game.  Winter comes, penguins come, drop eggs. Even if you don't know how to catch a bird and feed it to get eggs, you can take them from the penguin.

They will rot in spring.

You make gunpowder enough to deal 4000 damage, panflute dragonfly, and blow it up. Bang, dead. Dragonfly is ironically the only boss you can do this to, because its drops are fireproof.

Alternatively you can get Obsidian armor from Shipwrecked by killing Quacken, armor-stacking it with something else and facetanking it to death.

I don't think the Dragonfly discussed here is DS's Dragonfly...

I was replying to this part.

Okay, it's my problem. DS's dragonfly is indeed very simple, even without using gunpowder or cheese. On the contrary, DST's dragonfly is not as easy to deal with without using cheese.

To be honest, I think Dragonfly should spawn less lavae, OR they should make them easier to freeze. Freezing kills them, so this would be a nice counter to the Dragonfly.

Edit: Less lavae and more attacks? Like the normal form will still have the stomping? This would be fun.

Bruh, RoG Dragonfly only has 2750 health. Why the hell you need up to 20 gunpowder?

Wait she does?!? I always farmed up 20 when I was new and never really bothered fighting her because I rarely even visit RoG anymore when I play Singleplayer. My bad.

The problem with Dragonfly is that it was the first? i think? raidboss added to DST. So it is poorly designed. She was supposed to be killed with friends. "Some people attack Dragonfly while the others take care of the lavae" I suspect was the premise of the boss. But a lot of people play the game solo or 2 people are not enough for dealing with dragonfly in a fun and normal manner.

RoG gunpowder deals like 1000 dmg if i remember correctly.

id love for them to at least touch up the idle animation. It just staring blankly into the void aint doing it for me lol.

Its a dragon...ish thing, it drops gems and gold. Have it be asleep ontop of a pile of treasure. I think thats reasonable. The "treasure" can be purely asthetic and not real too

I love this idea. More expressive face would be appreciated too.

RoG Dragonfly is such a menace since she burns everything in her path, even in her regular form. You can fight her via making two closely placed firepits/any other unmoveable objects but the fire damage from her was the main issue. You legit can't fight her without needing cold items, and in RoG the options are so limited.

just say "i don't like it", since that's what you mean, since it isn't objectively bad

no, there doesn't need to be a rework for it, if you want the fight to be harder, don't use pan flute and walls

This is my opinion on Dfly.

Not a bad fight at all, I do think it's boring even if you fight it the intended way. I wouldn't say no to a rework but I don't think she needs one. Especially since she does have a use-case for repeated kills in that she drops every gem for passive gem income. I don't clear out the ruins for a long time so having all the ruins gems to start duping thulecite from the start, plus whatever more I find in the ruins is nice.

Dragonfly should stay completely as is.

With characters getting stronger, it's interesting to see what character will be able to do what against the dragonfly going forward.

I think the dragonfly fight is a little unfair, but regardless of that, it's good to see the number of solutions there are against such an entity that had no intentions of playing fair to begin with.

Dragonfly needs more variety of atacks because the fight, even without cheap exploits to ignore mechanics, is very repetitive but the fight is balanced and easy so new players can start losing fear of facing these boses

Maybe more scales dropped, that would be welcome to make it more appealing in late
