I mean... you do realize that keeping dst alive is in Klei's best interest? I mean, sure, the devs are (probably) passionate about this game and it is (hopefully) their labour of love but there's no denying that dst is Klei's cashcow. If they want to stay in bussiness at the level that they are right now, they have to keep updating dst, so that the studio is making money off of skins and what not. The only other Klei game that comes close to being popular is ONI and that game is very niche-like and cannot be easily turned into an RPG boss-fighting sandbox like dst can

Yeah but calling the devs incompetent and insulting the hard work they do is just plain rude. I totally understand having complaint about the game but that’s no reason to insult the people that work hard to make this game fun.

how am I supposed to give "constructive feedback" when the designer fails the most basic task.

Doesn't matter though, constructive or not it gets ignored if it doesn't fit their roadmap.

Make your own game then and go play that.

there's a jillion other bugs and cheese that's been in the game since the end of time. having one in beta is honestly not that remarkable

A cheese that reduces the fight to holding F is on another level though.

But I wouldn’t say “incompetence”… that would be presumptuous.

Elaborate. It is hard to figure out what this does with limited tooltips and no examine text without looking up videos. Also I do not know which features I get from which perk.

Alot of us on the forums have been playing dst from the early access days.

Its frustrating watching the klei devs keep running into similar bugs or for old bugs to affect new content updates, this happens time and time again.

Its like if they just put a wee bit more effort into fixing issues like pathfinding, way back in the early access days instead of ignoring them until they crop up again, they would of saved themselves alot of hassle.

Anyway this is a beta period so cant be too harsh on the klei devs atm, they have released the beta so we can help them target bugs that affect us the most.

For me, I love using follower centric characters like webber and wurt but the amount of effort you put in building up your army isnt worth it because you cant use them effectively for so many bosses, new crab king being the most recent example.

Klei needs to show more love to followers otherwise half of wurt's skilltree will go to waste.

How dare there be bugs on the beta build made for bug fixing and balance changes? It makes me sick to know that they would allow bugs in the beta build made for bug fixing and balances changes. Don't even get me started on how mad I would be if some of the things are overpowered/underpowered in the beta build made for bug fixes and balance changes.

In all fairness though, when it goes live - you'd have such a reasonable exemption under steams refund policy, the game has changed significantly since you purchased it.
Say I could never beat crab king, doubtful but you get my point, my game has been altered to the point I can no longer access content I had no trouble accessing prior to the change. I'm fine with it, but your consumer rights are defo more important than the feelings of the people who are selling you a product. Come on, u bin silly.

Wow holy cow are you rude. Imagine getting free updates for nearly a decade on a five dollar game (on sale) and calling the devs incompetent. You really should go outside of touch grass.  Something just rubs me the wrong way about being that entitled and needlessly rude.

Hi can you go tell me how much it costs to buy all the dlc thanks

There are skins in DST that I realize I’ll NEVER have.. and that’s just the way life is sometimes.

I bet even if DST was a 70$ premium triple A game, that their would still be pre-order bonuses, Deluxe Edition Bonuses, Collectors Edition Bonuses, limited time Season Pass Content, special promotional skins you can only get by buying an action figure from an obscure store that may or may not carry them, and even still a million purely cosmetic skins I can buy as DLC.

Dang do I miss the old days where you bought a Ps2 disc or N64 cartridge and all of the content was included in your initial purchase though… :(

Assuming your talking about actual content for characters, then the cheapest options (not including tax) would be 33.96 dollars. This is if you take the starter packs then you can get Wurt, Wanda, and Wortox, while Wormwood seemingly has only his deluxe bundle, atleast from what I seen from the klei store. Not mentioning the fact that it is technically possible to get all these characters for free by playing the game, this is a relatively low cost per character at 7.99 for the first 3 and 9.99 for Wormwood. While I get the point your trying to make, this game simply isn't one that requires dlc to get a full experience. Sure, you can buy a few new characters but besides that, everything in the game is still playable without any other introduction fees. Sure, you can point towards the buttload of skills but that's also how Klei gets their money and for something that doesn't affect gameplay for 99% of the things that they put out. That 5 dollar buy cost is still very much an entire complete experience compared to something like payday 2 has a mass majority of the content behind dlc.

In addition to who knows how much else you'd need to spend to get the stuff that isn't available on the store page. The game doesn't get "free updates" because Klei is oh-so generous, the game gets "free updates" because a live service game with cosmetic microtransactions is a thousand times more profitable and a thousand times less effort than making entirely new games. It's why the majority of the most profitable and played games are all free to play. League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Fortnite, etc.

It literally does.

It's called Business, They support the game, We support them. If we don't like it, then we don't support it and Klei stops supporting the game Idk why you mention it like it's a shamefull thing to do.

And It's sometimes works better than making a new game. Look at Rotwood, all those dev power, and we have a game that lasts for 6 hours.(Sorry Rotwood enjoyers)

Hi it actually costs zero dollars to u lock all the dlc characters. Cosmetic packs are completely optional and have no affect on gameplay :)  hope that helps

I’ve bought this game four times. Once on play station. Once on pc for myself and two times for my friends. Aside from that I’ve spent nothing. I’ve bought zero cosmetics and I unlocked all dlc characters with spools. But please pop off

this isn't like, 400 dollars worth of oblivion horse armor. they are purely cosmetic skins. literally who cares if over like 8 years there have been a few hundred dollars worth of skin packs

I mean to be fair alot of people care about there being over 100 dollars worth of skins in a game and don't really care about the amount of years it took to get there it's fair to not like that. On the other hand dst is quite fair with it's skin pricing compared to other games which is saying something considering it's really the only thing funding all these updates so I do believe they deserve a some slack as I do understand the money has to come from somewhere.

The cosmetics are cosmetic? I had no idea! Thank you for letting me know that cosmetics are cosmetic.

I honestly don’t think Klei likes to make money.. lol I mean, when they did the Year of the Beefalo update they added in cute costumes you can dress your Beefalo up in, after the limited time event was over they could have sold those as DLC and I would’ve gladly bought them.

Heck I’m still holding onto I teeny tiny sliver of hope that they’ll add a secondary batch of Beefalo costumes to the dress up station as DLC.. I’d absolutely without any question immediately purchase a Beefalo skin that turned him into that unimplemented Catmando creature thing..

In fact, Wigfrids Beefalo Skill Tree would be a billion times more enjoyable if I could skin my Beefalo to look like Cerberus:

Bonus points if they could somehow also double down as Woby skins!

Id also love more Bernie/Ashley variants..

So no Klei isn’t Milking DST as much as they probably could (& maybe should?)

Beefalo & Bernie skins (especially Halloween Themed ones..) would be must buys for me!

But.. now we’re just getting way off topic from the game content update and I’m sure Mr JoeW would greatly appreciate it if you guys stayed on topic. :wilson_love:
