Tell me just your unusual strategy

Recommended Posts

This post is just to share unusual strategies. They can be strategies that didn't work out, their pros and cons. I'll start:

>I tried using Moongleam to help with WX's damage... He becomes immune to electricity using the Electrification Circuit, but the Moongleam damage is too low, it didn't work as well as expected. Luckily, it wasn't all in vain, I managed to use them to electrify Volt Goats, which helped me a lot in killing the Possessed Varg.

>Before Beequeen was updated, I used Scalemail and Ice Flingomatic on a boat to keep freezing her minions indefinitely while I tanked and hit her. Since then, I haven't seen any other cool situation for Scalemail.

>Did you know you can keep Moonblind Crows and Misshapen Birds in bird cages? They give rot and rotten eggs.

>This one I imagine is more common, but I don't see many people talking about it: I always use the beefalo bell to bring a beefalo that is being followed by a Baby Beefalo near the base. It's just a matter of time until they start reproducing, and I have protection against hound attacks. That way, I don't need to worry about spending resources to maintain traps.

Usually, I like to try to find a better use for overlooked items in the game. But they're usually ignored precisely because they don't really have a good use... Or do they?

mmm this one is probally known but using, twins of terror or lunar bearger to kill bq.

however this one im not sure if it still works, i havent tested it in awhile, dropping a beefalo bell in water frees up one space and the beefalo doesnt run to the bell. only issue is it doesnt switch shards and if you lose it you have to grab the bell.

I use beefalo bells to produce more beefalos by bringing them to caves then setting them up at the surface at places I want the herds at.

I forage everything more often in early-mid game to get all the veggies and meat I'd need for any crockpot dish that will come in use. I still forage and dig shrooms for sake of restocking supplies via bundling and safekeeping.

Let the monkeys steal a bonded beefalo bell and follow the beefalo to the stash. Occasionally riding the beefalo to get it unstuck. Sniff em out boy.

Night armor is incredibly underrated. People tend to avoid it because of the paper cost, but it saves you from even having to collect healing food. 2 night armor and a mask of terror will get you through a fight with dragonfly and you might not even need to bring healing items. Bring the shield too and the night armor gets so much mileage.

if you're tanking it's much better to just use marble armor, i wouldn't recommend using night armor because that requires getting shadow manip and even if you get it, it's better to just use other 95% armors for tanking and a dread helm/beefalo for kiting because getting marble usually requires less time than getting papyrus and sanity food/wasting time on fighting nightmares while fighting a boss

Start the fight with full sanity and you won’t need much sanity food either. None if you’ve got Bernie.

I didn't know about using the twins against the bq until recently, it's been helping me a lot!

Wow, I don't think I've ever heard about that beefalo trick, I'll definitely use it!

LOL, that's funny..  But did you know that you can use Moonlens to show ON THE MAP where is the stash too?

I didn't know about the night armor, 95% of protection is a lot! I usually just wear it against the celestial champion to lose sanity... I think I'll use it a bit more, especially since, after visiting the moon quay, you can get tons of Papyrus! Just trade a banana for a blueprint with the queen and erase it on the Cartographer's Desk... 1 Banana turns into 1 Papyrus, basically.

I like to kill the shadow pieces in this order Knight-Rook-2 Bishops, by using Wormwood with his skill that roots enemies.

I do a similar thing with BQ, where I use both the normal shade and the Wormwood exclusive one. I tank one hit to snare her, then I switch armors and use the shade staff until I kill all of her grumble bees (I always have to be on top of her), then I use a normal weapon until she spawns more. Rinse and repeat and she is dead.

  • I think that I've seen the staff+bramble armor combo on youtube, I just added the root on top.

That works?? I swear I’ve tried that before.

Yes, works perfectly. I created a test just to show you:

OH MY GOD, THAT'S GENIUS! Do you know if the Bramble Husk also combine with items like the weather pain?.. or it just works with the staff?

Wurt is a really good character for pubs. Especially for anti-griefer bases in swamp.

Placing alot of cheaply made craftsmerm huts around your farm protects it from noobie looters and placing craftsmerm huts around mosquito ponds nets alot of sacks for water balloons which then can be used to put out griefer flames and you can use it to drive griefers insane. Clever disguises can be handed out to strangers you befriended as a sort of passkey for your base.

Walter being immune to rain/night sanity drain can easily base in the depths of the caves in all seasons for hidden anti griefer base locations. You can also outrun any griefer looking to follow you with big wobys speed.

you can also play as maxwell and not need a base because you can put everything remotely valuable that you might use later into the top hat

Wendy’s Pipspook have a (not so) hidden use, they can be used to lower the sanity of any non-Wendy player standing near them, so with both a Pipspook following you and a flower fueled Sisturn, the character Wendy becomes a Sanity Station for all Non-Wendy’s.

I guess if your good at the game (Aka know all the sanity food dishes..) this won’t be very important to you, but if you happen to want to save resources for other stuff, then these are two least costly ways to lower & raise sanity.

Also as Maxwell due to his high sanity recovery- jumping in and out of a wormhole repeatedly a bunch of times is an effective noob friendly way to lower his sanity.

True but i lowkey like when i get targetted by griefers, why else play pub servers if not for the chaos? :wilsoalmostangelic:

Walter has a massive inventory potential with woby and piggy backpack with the big speed boost so never have to worry about griefers following you home to base.

Enlightened Crown

Jelly Salad

Fun

LOL, Literally a big brain time... I'll try this for sure.

Question: what has more DPS? A WX using Enlightened Crown with Glass Cutter or a WX using W.A.R.B.I.S. Head with Glass Cutter?

I used the Deconstruction Staff on the Enlightened Crown to make the W.A.R.B.I.S. and I think I bitterly regret it.
It's time to kill celestial champion again.

> Be Wendy

> Acquire the cute companion, polly roger

> Venture out to sea and find some salt formations, farm about 200 monster meat with agro abby

> Bundle them up to save space

> find Bearger, unwrap all those monster meat by his feet.

> watch him gorge on all the monster meat until he eventually chokes and dies.

> profit

Also, many don't know but you can freeze bomb ant lion. There's zero reason to fight her fairly. Save up 30 gunpowder. When you feed her the frozen thermal, light the 30 gunpowder by her feet. Dead.

Rock fruit bushes never need fertilizer if you grow them from saplings. Just a little water in the summer. You can blow up stacks of rock fruit with a single gunpowder if to break up the stacks from 40 to 20 and surround the gunpowder with them before you light it on fire. Saves on time and pickaxes. Eat what you want, and let the rest rot.

Clearing moonquay island is good with Wendy because abby works well controlling mobs. I tried as Walter and couldn't even run away. (died on my boat) It takes only 2 gunpowder to destroy a dock. Light 2 gunpowder on all the connecting docks to the island to destroy all the monkeys living on the docks safely and acquire tonnes of wood/boards.

If you've always struggled trying to play caves like me, try playing Walter. Since he's not afraid of anything, you can comfortably explore there without losing sanity. People hate on Walter but he's actually a good character.

I prefer to treasure hunt in the sea than cave plunder, you get just as much goodies from the chests, and more. Gems, thulicide blocks, gold, tools, etc.

Wow, you definitely have the most unique playstyle! Killing the bearger with poison must be funny lol. But I think it ends up being more practical to make him knock down a bunch of trees and be killed by the treeguards, you still end up getting those living logs as a bonus.

Apparently you use a lot of gunpowder, doesn't it take long to get so much?

About the rock fruits, that's great! I don't usually make gunpowder, I usually use Slurtle Slime, it works as well.

Walter is great! If you manage to tame a beefalo, he loses all negative effects. My first ruins rush was with him precisely because of that! I hope in his rework they make it so there's no longer a need to tame a beefalo, Woby should be able to tank and attack like a beefalo.
And if you like to use Walter to explore the caves, maybe you would like to try using WX with Super-Acceleration Circuit and Optoelectronic Circuit.

About the treasury hunt, I've done it just a few times, but it's very satisfying to get thulecite or even a walking cane like that.

have treeguards kill bg is more practical, i accidentally discovered this method when i played a server with mods with a friend where stack size was 250 BG griefed our base and ate the stack of monster meat and died instantly, it surprised us lol.

Gunpowder is simple to get tonnes of. You can burn selfmade forests and chop them down to get charcoal, plenty of nitre from clear rock fields, and the rotten eggs can be made by feeding stacks of monster meat (which really do pile up) or froglegs from frog rain to get eggs and let them go bad in a chest.

wx78 with glass cutter and enlightened crown has higher dps:

with the warbis helm, you get a multiplicative 1.05 - 1.2x damage per hit (71.4 - 81.6 damage per hit with a glass cutter)

with the enlightened crown, assuming each gestalt consistently hits, you get an additive 42.5 damage per hit (effective 110.5 damage per hit with a glass cutter)

in fact, the only way for warbis to outdamage the enlightened crown is to do 213+ damage per hit at max warbis analyzation (or 851+ damage per hit with the 1.05 multiplier)
