Depth dwellas, worms, slurpies aren't really ruins exclusive thaz what i meant. Anyways mine is slurper cause they are pretty harmless, cute, can be used to refresh bulb stock, fights monkey and worms good for distraction, and you can take them to your surface petting zoo.

Monkeys. Litteraly meet all the criteria.

Design is cool. Looks like a normal monkey untill it opens it's mouth to reveal hell. Dst horror.

Mechanics are cool. Their scary appearance is paired with their scary behavior. Temporarily docile they make you wonder if you got the time to pass them. And if you don't - expect the most intense chace scene this game has to offer.

Loot is cool. Absolutely. Bananas, morcel, nightmare fuel, beard hair and poop all from 1 monkey.

I like murdering this creature. Who dosen't?

Honestly, depthworms, splumonkeys and slurpers all have great mechanics. You need to be very careful, not to drop your lantern or let the slurper attack your miner hat, so you gotta adapt. Splumonkeys periodically changing form is one of the coolest mechanics in game. Depth worms' bite really hurts and sometimes comes out of nowhere; and they can be used for farms. I like slurpers design, it's very original. I like that depth worms attack both splumonkeys and slurpers, it gets sometimes pretty chaotic down there. I like the drops of shadow monkeys.

On the other hand there are clockworks. They are not unique only for the ruins and have kinda simple mechanics. Unless i need to research the rook or fight the duo bishop at the complete station, I ignore them. The rooks are the most interesting out of the bunch though, because they can help you smash down the statues and broken clockworks.

Anyway I voted for Splumonkeys. Having throwing attacks, stealing mechanics and transforming mechanics makes it into one of the most developed enemy there is. They can be annoying, but in a way that makes you think about what you are doing and where you are placing your chests or dropping your items. And they are hard to hunt.
