Copyafriend
I think that there are plenty of ways to obtain meat, hunts, pigmen farms, volt goats, and killing tallbirds are all viable ways to mass obtain meat, but do you know what we’re kind of missing? domesticated livestock. Now one could argue volt goats fit the catagory, but also, not really… yet? i primarily mean a docile creature that we can feed and breed to produce a large quantity of meat. Key word: docile. i would like a doydoy equivalent in dst. maybe it appears in hunts, and you can breed them when two get together, one on its own is not a terribly large amount of meat (probably 2 same as a tallbird) but you can make nests and invest resources to make the population grow. I just think livestock would be nice to see in dst, it could be cool, especially if the animals give a useful secondary resource of some kind (passively?) (a silkworm that gives silk, a normal pig that gives mushrooms, a “materwellon” that gives watermelon instead of meat and produces random gardening seeds) i just feel like some ranching would be a fun addition to the gameplay loop if someone doesn’t want to set up the current “meat farms”
Nnumber3
Kind of like Grass Geckos? but grass instead of meat. It would be fun if we could ranch animals, like Carrats, No eyed deer, etc Or some other new animal like you said.

Gi-Go
Fun? I think it's rather depressing. We did had gorge beefalos and I just don't feel like killing innocent creatures that can't even fight back. Go vegan and start using lureplant farm
-Variant
Ranching and whatnot would be fun. It'd be fun to see an alternative to the eyesore of mechanical farms. Also, I just like DoyDoys, aha. 7 hours ago, Gi-Go said: I just don't feel like killing innocent creatures that can't even fight back. Let's give them a sword and duke it out, victor eats loser!! 1 5
Retepeter
I feel like this would go against the whole point of meat being very valuable (aka 3 of them can feed you for 2 days) I don't think the equivalent of Minecraft pig farms would fit dst at all Edited October 9 by Retepeter typo

Unless a single doydoy gives like 30 meat it would pale in comparison to how much meat you get from just putting pig houses together. No upkeep, you get way more meat than you could ever use, and the only interaction you do with it is harvest from it which can be as simple as feinting an attack so they war with eachother, killing them with something like fire or catapults, or just holding F on them when they're werepigs (such as from a full moon). I can't really decide if you're in favour of this or against it depending on how much you like off-meta options that most people won't use

Gashzer
You can ranch beefalos atm. Just beefalo bell or feed it a single grass an lead it outside the pen for slaughter. Just have to be careful when they are in heat but i feel like thats a good balance since beefalos drop quite alot of stuff. 1
