So here we go. Off the top of my head: Wendy: - Mourning Light: Increased Abigail light radius - Sisterhood Sacrifice: Item that weakens Wendy making her unable to attack, but Abigail amplifies damage even more - Animal Companionship: Beefalo perks like reduced taming time - Phantom Tactician: Item (or flower function) that allows to command Abigail to go to target location and fight - Floral Flora: Ability to make a planter pot for flowers to get petals ( not my idea, just advertising skile's thread ) - From Beyond: Ability to fight as a ghost similar to Abigail when dead, so that you can be someone else's "Abigail" after you achieve your dream of dying finally like a true Wendy main WX: - Overclocking: Allows more speed or damage at the cost of health the more you run/fight (similar chargeup to shipwrecked obsidian weapons) - Packed Circuitry: More circuit slots (but at a drawback like heavily increased hunger drain when over default circuit limit) - Charge Insulation: Ability to retain some charge when unplugging Maxwell: - Pocket dimension: Ability to unsummon shadows temporarily - Delving Insanity: Ability to conjure shadow creatures on demand to farm shadows (at a cost) - Puppet Follower: Long shot, but I miss the ability to have the old shadow puppets that follow you, maybe there is a chance - Shadow Mastery: (Fully shadow aligned) Ability for shadows to not be targettable by monsters and AoE - Maxwell should only align with shadows only, similar to how wormwood is celestial only Warly: - Butcher: Chance to get extra meat products on slaughtering animals - Varied Diet: Gain extra stats on non-repeat eats - Maman's Casserole: Special plating casserole that allows crockpot dishes to not spoil, but limits stacksize to 1 - Sushi master: Slaughtering fish is 3x as fast - Fancy Dining: Special dining table that allows to display a crockpot food item. Eating from this table will grant you +15 sanity instead of the +5 sanity. - Yum master: The more consecutive different dishes you eat, the more food restores to you Wortox: - Hop Distance: Increased max jump distance on map - Hop Haste: Healing causes people to move faster for 3-5 seconds - Hop Efficiency: Extra double jumps (can jump triple or quadruple times with one soul) - Scent of Life: Ability to see health of creatures. - Soul Limit: Increase your soul limit up to double. - Into Shadows: (Shadow aligned) Ability to jump into an unexplored map area. Ability to consume nightmare fuel and pure horror for horrendous effects. - Into Lunacy: (Lunar aligned) Ability to consume brilliance to give you stats and glowing effect lasting multiple days Wicker: - Tentacle Speaker: Tentacles don't hit wicker for the first 5 seconds of presence - Horticulture Adept: Increases number of crops/plants grown with the respective books - Scribe: Ability to make papyrus more efficiently - Book Pouch: Backpack that carries books and recharges them like bookcase - Speed Reader: Faster reading animation. Wigfrid: - Rhythm of Battle: Ability to sing and hit via a rhythm game mini-game, that gives stronger song effects if you hit all the "notes" right and keep a combo high (notes = hits on a monster). Each monster has a song note pattern depending on the actual fighting pattern of the monster's attacks. Winona: - Lightbulb Moments: Increased light radius on spotlight - Reinforcements and barricades: Basically a cheaper way to make statue walls, but ones that look like barricades instead - Engineer 1: Ability to utilize her machineries more effectively (longer duration in generator for instance) - Engineer 2: Ability to man (or woman?) her catapults for increased shooting speed - Engineer 3: She can man generators and spotlights too for increased effect - Engineer 4: Machineries that she mans are now controllable in location - Industry 1: New item: Conveyor belt can move items placed on it in a direction - Industry 2: New item: Assembler - Can configure a recipe to craft based on items coming in on a conveyor belt - Industry 3: New item: Aspirator - Can suck up nearby items, including chests - Industry 4: New item: Battery - Can store electrical charge - Industry 5: Powerline: Can transport power from a generator - The new items all require power - The factory must grow Walter: - Train Resilience: Not getting knocked off Woby for more attacks - Train Grit: Woby being able to fight - Domestication: Train Woby to be as good as a beefalo - Power charge: Ability to do more damage with a slingshot the more you charge it (which conserves ammo) - Angel Woby: Woby pulls you away from danger before getting hit by grabbing your pants and tugging you away from an attack. Cooldown (30-10 seconds, depending on level) Wurt: - Nurture Swamplife: Ability to grow tentacles in a swamp turf - Waterborn: No penalties on wetness (like coldness or sanity loss) - Sliding fins: More movespeed on wetness - Fish Barter: Get more resources from merm king the heavier a fish is - Aquamarine: Ability to swim (cute swim animation of course) Webber: - Web Communication: An item that allows webber to send spiders to a location (to stay or fight) - Spider storage: Ability for webber to place spiders inside a nest for storage - Arachnid Tactician: A silky item book that allows to configure your spiders to stay in a particular formation relative to you and be able to change formations on the fly by clicking on each formation book you have devised from your inventory. - Spider Sense: An ability to see the attack range of monsters and when they attack - Queen Domestication: Ability to domesticate and ride spider queens. Subsequent levels in skill tree increases queen speed. Wanda: - I think she's perfect. But if you have to give her tech trees give her minor things, like reduced time drain, reduced cooldowns on her portals, and other things of such nature, mostly quality of life. - She should only be able to be shadow aligned, like wormwood can be lunar aligned only. Willow: <I am not a Willow main, and I will not comment on Willow, as I know my place and how bad my ideas are regarding Willow, the perfect being. These are just random ideas I brainstormed, feel free to tell me how bad they are in practice (seriously) And if these ideas gave you other ideas, feel free to post yours below to pile on for the devs, they might need help after seeing they actually committed themselves to this monumental task. It would really fall in line with the short too. Mysterious box Posted August 7, 2023 Share Posted August 7, 2023 One thing I do hope is that Webber gets skills that makes a bigger distinction from Wurt so that Wurt isn't held back from quality of life and flavor improvements she should share with Webber but doesn't due to trying to avoid overshadowing him such as a item similar to the webby whistle to command merms (seriously she's the only primary follower character who can't command her followers) or even just being able to go into merm homes to sleep. My Willow skill tree Nightmarish friendship: Bernie can be forcibly transformed with nightmare fuel staying in his active mode for 4 minutes per nightmare fuel used. Pyrophobia: Bernie will automatically put out fires (not campfires or fire pits) by running up and smashing the ground, dealing a bit of damage in an area and knocking berries, grass and twigs onto the ground. Burning rage: Bernie's ground smash deals extra damage. Large scale extinguisher: Brenie’s ground smash has an increased area of effect. Shoulder ride: Willow can jump on Bernie's shoulder controlling his movements, attacks, and use his ground smash on fires. Only he can stop forest fires: Bernie gets increased move speed towards fire. Bernie toss: Bernie can be thrown, if the conditions for transformation are met he transforms in the air and slams the ground upon landing. Devil on the shoulder: When riding Bernie's shoulder Willow can use ranged weapons. Public transport: Any survivor can ride on Bernie's shoulder. When riding Bernie he can pick up and move pigmen, bunnymen, rock lobsters, spider dens and survivors. While carrying something Bernie can not attack. Pinpoint pyromania: If Willow directly sets fire to something using anything other than a torch the fire can not spread. Exterminate: If Willow sets fire to a crop or weed the chance for that type of weed or crop to grow again in that soil will be lower. The soil also gains some compost. Sparking speed: Willow gains bonus move speed around fire. If you can't take the heat: Creatures that Willow has lit on fire take increased fire damage for every other creature burning around them, further increased during summer. Incinerate: Willow can use a fire staff to reset the duration of fire and boost the damage of all fire in a selected area. Fire sigil: Willow can use papyrus and some lighter durability in a Prestihatitator to craft a fire sigil which she can use to set a trap that will trigger and light all creatures in a small area on fire when stepped on. Fire eater: Willow can use her lighter to instantly put out a fire from a distance refiling some durability. Lunar light I: Willow can spend a lot of her lighter's durability to create a polar light. Sometimes when I'm AFK resting, I wish I could spectate or defeat monsters from someone else's perspective too. But the death penalty is too high - it would be better if it was modified into an activatable spirit elixir instead. If for the gameplay with Wes to become fun, dynamic, interesting and captivating, I prefer that all of Wes's skill tree is blocked from the root until he defeats Ancient Fuelweaver or Celestial Champion. You don't fight dragonfly and tank the whole time, It's absurd. Werepig, you don't tank, absurd. Wigfrid and bee queen, she's a good character for that because she can tank, I'll give you that. Spear throw would be a good fit depending on the interaction it has with inspiration. If she can throw pretty freely, it would halt inspiration decay which would add layers to soloing raid bosses. If throwing spear causes inspo to decay, you could play a hot and cold fighting style where you go in aggressively and then when hp runs a bit low and inspiration is high, you can create some distance. We can't go off of "It doesn't feel that good" and take you at your word because we don't know how you play, nor if the mods used were even balanced. Most mod authors don't really grasp the concept of game design and it's easy to get carried away with the power level of additions. Her tanking is also not good for hordes of enemies. She gets beaten by Abigail and the Moose. Also her tomato song is one of the worst things I have ever seen in my whole entire life and I've witnessed beatings irl, and to be frank, rude interlude is a lot more macabre than actually seeing instances of real life brutality. A spear throw would work really well to get attention in order to save team mates in danger. Especially big bads. That would set her apart from moose and abigail and big tanks. GreenBowers Posted August 9, 2023 Share Posted August 9, 2023 Wendy being able to astral project into a ghost form to go fight would be pretty sick, the downside probably being hunger drains and she leaves her body behind so she cant stay a ghost indefinitely. Maybe ending if her body takes any damage so hunger damage would be a natural timer. I think giving Wes actual abilities but limiting them to boss defeats would be funny and cruel xD. Every unique boss defeated granting a point of insight or something. I do think maybe leaning into his mime skills for a skill tree would be neat, like trapping mobs / himself in an impenetrable box as long as he keeps miming, or miming a bike and riding around super fast could be silly and neat. Maybe bring the mime tool skins to the next level and let him craft all the basic tools using sanity. Inspiration on enemies is too low Spoiler Before getting into what everyone wants to hear like battlesongs, there are many problems with the inspiration mechanic, the first problem being that its only good for bosses as not only they are a fight that has to last a while but also because the amount of insp. you get per attack on normal enemies is extremely low, which makes it so battlesongs that should be useful on them like rude interlude almost impossible to use The only time i see wigfrids using battlesongs on normal enemies is against a hidden snurtle with ballad and cadenza for free sanity and health Solution: increase insp. gained per hit on normal enemies, decrease insp. on bosses if necesary 2. Battlesong casting animation is too long Spoiler Most notable with instant effect battlesongs like interlude or siloquy (whatever its called) This problem becomes evident, again, with normal enemies instead of bosses since at least bosses give you windows to cast them It feels like klei only tested battlesongs on giants Solution: anim cancel battlesongs or allow wigfrid to move while casting, which will require extra work 3. Inspiration is lost too quick Spoiler I get it when im cheesing dfly with walls, but i cannot possibly keep up the third battlesong socket in fights like tosdstool when im chopping the trees or cc phase 3 Solution: Insp. should start decreasing after 30 seconds or more 4. Bel canto of Courage is not fun Spoiler I dont care that i can use to kind of reduce sanity reduction against deerclops and fuelweaver, it is not fun, its so momentary and even when its meant to be useful i just dont feel like i am having a notable advantage Solution: We dont need another sanity bsong, just merge some of its effect on cadenza or remove it entirely 5. Weaponized warble is also not fun Spoiler I dont really care for 25 more uses, its just a niche, i get that niches can be good but that doesnt mean they are fun Solution: Maybe change it so it increases attack speed by a little? would sinergize perfectly with wigfrid since she gets buffs on hit 6. Startling soloquy and rude interlude, same story Spoiler They suck Solution: Increase time that mobs affected by soloquy are scared, they did not have any problem to do this with maxwel As for interlude, give wigfrid some defense for every mob affected by it, for example, if it aggros 5 hounds, Increase her defense by 25% (with a cap obvs so she cant have 100% prot) this way its actually useful on solo 7. Rework or remove fireproof falsetto entirely Spoiler For those that dont know, falsetto is a bsong that when active gives 33% fire resistance EVEN if it was 100% resis it would still suck as there are like 3 enemies in the entire game that deal fire damage Solution: Rework its purpose entirely, my idea was that if its made with a spitterfish, it should decrease your wetness by 2 points when hitting an enemy 8. New bsongs Spoiler Wolfgang got new dumbells, i think she could have 1 or 2 new bsongs aswell My ideas were: one battlesong made with phlegm, which will slow down the mob wigfrid hit for 4 seconds And a bsongs that gives some speed (like 15%) after doing an attack for some seconds aswell 9. Wes spends a lazy explorer and a nightmare amulet 34% less. Shadow mail. Wes will be able to create a ball to which he can bind 1 any object and deliver it to any point on the map (excluding all stones and armor) Lunar test subject. All items made of volt-goat horn serve 34% more. Moon walker. Wes will be able to create a ball with which he can stay above the water for 13 seconds, with each subsequent second there is a 50% chance that Wes will be blown away by the wind to a random place on the map. Oh, half of the skills here are a joke, the rest is what comes to my mind when I see Balloon Hat and Speedy Balloon and found he breaks all the fighting staffs 34% slower.
