-Variant Posted August 2, 2023 Share Posted August 2, 2023 So now that Dreadstone pillars have made it in, and their main defining feature is their ability to repair themselves using nearby players sanity, it starts to make that the Dreadstone mechanic icon. This makes all the Dreadstone related stuff similiar in the sense that they regen via sanity! All except for... These. I'm hoping these can be updated to be given it's brethren's abilities to optionally regen themselves! For years I've wanted a wall that could regrow itself and the one time we get a wall made from materials that regrow, the wall is entirely lacking the ability!! EDIT: Others have suggested being able to use the hammer to set which level they regen too. I love this idea and am adding it to my main post! Being able to manually set which stage it'll regen to is perfect for technical AND decoration uses! lowercase skye Posted August 2, 2023 Share Posted August 2, 2023 I wouldn't be a fan, personally. You wouldn't be able to decorate with anything except the fully repaired state! Since dreadstone pillars are more catered towards megabasing than anything, I think it would be sad if dreadstone walls were made harder to use for megabasing too... I still really want a regenerating wall though ideally it'd be optional to allow for decoration uses. I'd love to be able to manually determine the stage at which it'd regrow, that means you can use it for decoration and it'd reset itself if something ever happened to it! Same as you, i have thought about regen wall for a long time. Before dreadstone wall, i wanted crabking and rocklobster to drop a living rocks and can craft living rocks wall. And when dread stone wall come out, i always thinking about how to suppress and grow wall logically, and my idea is: Dread stone wall will always grow and repair itself, by planting one and leave it there to drain player sanity, it will always grow to max level. You can put/apply moonshards on dreadstone wall, and small moonshard will be shown on top of the wall. 1 moonshard will supress 1 level, and you can put maximum 4 moonshards to get the wall level you wanted. 0 moonshard, wall maximum tier 3 1 moonshard, wall maximum tier 2 2 moonshards, wall maximum tier 1 3 moonshards, wall in half destroyed state 4 moonshards, wall in destroyed state. You can use pickaxe on socket/put/applied moonshard wall to remove all moonshards. webberer Posted August 2, 2023 Share Posted August 2, 2023 I think it could work like this, after you built your dreadstone wall to ideal height, you can give a nightmare (or pure horror) fuel to reshape it, the reshaped wall will only grow to the height when it was reshaped. or make any dreadstone wall that near the night light lose the ability to drain characters’ sanity when the light is on.
