How many more character updates are there

It will never end.

Look how bad the early character refreshes were (Woodie, Willow) vs the later ones (Wickerbottom, Maxwell). Wilson being an exception because let's be honest, he's the beta version of skill trees (and devs apparently don't want him to better than anyone except Wes I guess)

I'd expect the same to happen to skill trees so

It's been mostly DiogoW active on the forums, so I guess this is the "secret project" they were talking about back in April. Between then and now, it took about three months to complete three characters, so it will probably take about 13 months before it ends.

I wish this is last round... and don't have the same problems as character refreshes

I hope Willow gets hers last. She deserves to be the first one to get a work, but if she gets something too early, I think she'll be a little underpowered...

In the meantime, I hope she gets the post wanda wortox treatment and gets a small QOL buff with max enlightenment bernie.

Road Map says 2023 will have 3 content update and 2 core update.

I'm assuming from beyond and from below are 2 content updates (or two 1/3 update depending how you look at it), and I'm guessing this skill tree update is a core mech update. That leaves 1 more content update hopefully, and another skill tree update this year, probably.

Wortox skill tree (ideas)

Soul paths:

Soul Bag 1: can carry 25 souls,  Soul Bag 2: can carry 30 souls,  Soul Bag 3: can carry 35 souls,  Soul Max Bag: can carry 40 souls (spirits are included in all perks)

Soul Bandage 1: heals 30 hp + 5 sanity,  Soul Bandage 2: defence aura of 20% (around 1.5 tiles),  Soul Bandage 3: heals 50 hp + 10 sanity,  Soul Barrier: defence aura of 40%

Soul Feast 1: boost to 35 hunger,  Soul Feast 2: Wortox can eat 2nd time for free (like a soul echo),  Soul Feast 3: boost to 45 Hunger,  Soul Buffet: can eat 3rd time for free (that would be 135 hunger and -15 sanity for 1 soul)

Monster path:

Familiar 1: sanity drain goes 50% > 60%,  Familiar 2: sanity drain goes 60% > 70%,  Familiar 3: sanity drain goes 70% > 85%,  I've see everything: sanity drain goes 85% > 100% (all of these perks are for monsters only)

Spirit Path:

Heavy port 1: Wortox can teleport heavy objects (no soul echos), Heavy port 2: Wortox can teleport heavy objects (with soul echos), Heavy port 3: Wortox can teleport heavy objects (long range included)

Toonies 1: Wortox has 10% of extra soul, Toonies 1: Wortox has 20% of extra soul, Toonies 3: Wortox has 30% of extra soul (plus all bosses drop 1 spirit)

Spirit: Wortox can craft "Spirit" (blue soul) for 5 souls which can be dropped for a teleporting aura a second is required to active (like a tele-locator focus), can be thrown for 66.6 explosive damage (plus 20% slowdown for 5 seconds), eat on is the same as soul but 2x the next food item (so meat stew goes 75 hunger > 150 hunger)

Echo Echo: doubles the soul echo timer

Very Naughty: 33% higher chance of spawning krampus

Alignment Path:

Shadow: On the Naughty List: can spawn ice/fire deer to help Wortox fight (works like fire staff/ice staff, Wortox can choose up to 3 at a time) cost 2 meat 1 red gem = red deer, 2 meat 1 blue gem = blue deer

Light: Omni-present: can soul echo long range teleports (so it basically doubles long range teleport)
