I mostly agree, though mainly, I think they should come with downsides too, small ones, something like bonus wooden armor resistance and less alternate armor resistance for Woodie's woodcarver perk. But anyways, that's not what this thread is about. My prediction, assuming Klei keeps skill trees, is Walter and Willow. Walter is incomplete and I would rather see him be reworked (though I hope it doesn't trample on my Walter rework...), and it's possible he could get something that really ties his character together, instead of just more flavor perks, which is the worst outcome. Willow, ironically, could use a bit more flavor, and more uses for fire, there's lots of creative stuff Klei could come up with, stuff that wasn't thought of when doing her original Refresh. While skill trees are a controversial change, I'd like to see the silver lining and see it as character rework 2.0 These two suffer immensely from requiring lots of prep for very mediocre rewards, and also the "swap-out" syndrome. As a Warly main-ish, the first autumn is the busiest in every playthrough and hardly any opportunity to grow garlic/spice, or tending to crops in general. Have to focus on building a base, work on less storage in general because of Warly's quirk, set up bee boxes, explore the map, etc. etc. Having skill trees gives them a chance to: Provide incentive to stay as that character, instead of making spices/catapult then be done. Less prep. Maybe Warly could have increased chances of pepper seed from wild ones. or have a transmutation-esque ala Wilson to transform some in-seaason seeds to garlic/spice. Increased efficiency of Winona's generators, new inventions! Anything to kickstart these character's powers as early as possible. More stuff, basically. While Warly is okay with the amount of recipes atm but more is appreciated, Winona sorely needs more, like a lot more. I think the next characters will be the Wi women. Wickerbottom/Wigfrid , Willow(in need*) and Winona(also in need*). * need to change them even further to make them interested in their own. Another theme could be the monsters. Webber, Wurt, Wortox. betrayed by shadows. Wanda, Maxwell, Wigfrid. Lost a companion . Wx-78, Warly, Wendy. The ones everyone plays(real) Walter, Wes, Wonkey. I'd like it on WX-78 too since he's just Wilson with 150% speed and Willow since she's Wilson with better defence against nightmares.
