Pomato
With the new skill trees update, I'm not particularly concerned about Wilson being overshadowed once again in this character refresh 2.0. He's always been somewhat plain compared to others in previous years. I believe his role is meant to be a tutorial character in the game, but now it seems everyone is recommending beginners to play as Wendy or Wigfrid. To be honest, they have a point. Playing as Wilson is much more challenging compared to them. Wendy and Wigfrid allow for more room for error and their playstyle is simpler, so some might argue that they encourage bad habits. They say something like:" Oh but new players should learn to separate groups of spiders and master kiting blah blah blah" But let's be realistic. How many times have we died trying to learn those things? I don't think most new players today have the patience to master all of that. They can let Abigail handle everything or simply tank with helms throughout their playtime and still be fine. Wendy and Wigfrid are top-tier characters anyway, so players can stick with them if they prefer. I'm not upset because Wilson got indirectly nerfed, and I expect even harsher nerfs in future skill tree updates. My frustration stems from the fact that his so-called "character update (And the butchering of beta idle animation. I still hold a grudge in this day) " gave the false impression that his skill tree would be something exclusive, only to feel cheated when the new skill trees were released . It turns out Wilson was just the guinea pig for these potentially controversial updates. I fail to understand why they couldn't have been upfront and said something like, "Hey guys, we're introducing a skill tree for Wilson and would love to hear your feedback on it. If it's well-received, perhaps we'll start working on skill trees for other survivors too!" during Wilson's update. Seriously, someone please explain what prevented them from doing so. You just reminded me that we lost that beatiful idle animation and klei didn't even told us why it was changed.

I agree with your words, as does my friend Willson Main.(he was very upset when he realized that Wilson was left without a rework) Feeling as if we had been deceived. Everyone will have skill trees, which means that everyone will have skill trees and a rework. And Willson will stand in the shade only with skill trees. Clay, please rework at least a little Wilson, give him a couple of abilities related to treatment (for example, rebirth of the heart without penalty) or scientific inventions .Please give a little love to our boy. He's been through so much. He deserved it more than anyone

While I agree that both of them can encourage bad habits, I cannot say much about Wigfrid as I don't play Wigfrid, just saw a bunch of Wigfrids in action and it was bad. But as Wendy player I must note there is some space for mastery. She is easy to survive, to go on sea, to go in forest, to grind silk, monster meats, shred monke in ruins, but she gets hard when it comes to kill bosses (except Bee Queen, but I still can argue that Abigail is prone to be shredded if not maintained). Most of people will lost Abby in fight after 3rd-5th hit, if you want her survive you have maintain her, do some tricky kitting that both of them don't get hit (I can't. My reflexes are as low as my ping is red), maintain potions, unsummon Abby in right moment before she dies (her having 600HP is quite difference to max 150 HP). There is some space for not so simple tricks and doing better than average Wendy. Just that. But I agree for most time she teach bad habits. 00petar00
Wilson was always supposed to be a character without many abilities so that players can experience the game without relying on them. I can understand if you are frustrated because of the confusion with Wilson refresh and klei not explaining that skill tree isn't going to be exclusive to him but it was kind of obvious because there would be no reason for them to introduce skill trees in that case and also the inspect UI update was made to fit the skill tree. It is terrible idea to make Wilson death have no revival penalty because it would be very confusing and really not intuitive for a new player, when they switch to another character they understand why their health is decreasing after death. He's been faceless for too long. He has the right to be a suitable character with interesting mechanics. After they added the skill tree, he stopped being a character without features. The problem is that klei can make it louder. He is no longer a vanilla character . And the more the character for beginners, as they call him (the character for beginners is Wendy, and everyone knows it).

ShadowbirdRH
The best thing about the Wilson rework was being able to turn the easy to accumulate stacks of gold into heaps of the much harder to amass nitre. With the acid rain now causing nitre pools to form, that ability is much less useful. Meh, I never liked Wilson much anyway. Doesn't mean I can't sympathize with his fans of course. cybers2001
Naw, best thing about Wilson is being able to turn hounds teeth to bone shards, and craftable green gems.
