Pedro_L
i'm doing a fish farm without wild ranching them so i can make lots of surf and turf without wasting all my cpu on their AI but i just can't kill all those fries that hatch constantly from the farm, any ideas? SharraShimada
If you dont mind using mods, there is a laser critter killer in the workshop.
tuxii
Temperature is an option. You can build a sealed room where the eggs are dropped with a liquid cooled to below -50C (cold enough to kill Gulp Fish, ethanol or super coolant required) or above 100C (hot enough to kill Tropical Pacu, oil recommended.) blakemw
Fish are a pain in the ass to kill because their mass is very high so it takes a considerable amount of heating/cooling to heat or cool them lethally. A tricked out Liquid Tepidizer so the temperature goes well above 80 C would be one way. Magma ought to be effective, it won't lethally scald them to death or anything but the very high temperature delta would kill them quickly. Or perhaps a puddle of molten metal (lead or aluminum) heated by magma.

degr
Fish lifespan is pretty short - 25 cycles, if you have at least 100 fishes, you will have around 4 nice dead fishes each cycle, just because of probability.

MrAnimaniac
Haven't really tried that intentionally, but radbolts are quite effective critter killers. For better aiming, you should remove the water and let them flop on the ground. A strong radiation source like a crashed satellite, as well as some energy to spare, is necessary, though. Farsight
Best option? Butcher/Fishing Station mod - it's great! Otherwise, temperature will do it. Send their eggs to an insulated room outside their livable temp range.

When I'm farming Dreckos for Reed Fiber and Plastic, I usually just do an "Attack" command on the shearing room every now and then...I realize that takes manual effort, but it's simple. If you wanted an alert when the population reaches a certain amount, just hook up an Automated Notifier to a critter sensor in the room. Then you're literally shooting fish in a barrel haha
ALCRD
Ikejime method is the best way to kill a fish. Humane and quick and fish doesn't flop around after death with this method - making it easier to gut it.

And, I would like to say it work pretty playable at speed 2x. Really, I have no issues with it. I make my pc around 2017 year. Spoiler
